If The Missing Hunter is stuck, the right workaround depends on the objective: try Exploration guidance for a missing marker or prompt, check the aircraft’s rear if Zomey is by the wreckage, fully close and relaunch the game, or complete the quest in another player’s co-op world. Ubisoft developer Ubi-Mysterion shared several player workarounds in a Steam support discussion on July 10, 2025, while cautioning that they might not all work. Try the relevant action below, then check whether the objective advances.

None of these actions has a published success rate, so there is no evidence-based way to rank them by likelihood of fixing a particular save.
What the patch history does—and does not—confirm
A narrow fix for dying during “Defend Zomey”
A December 2023 patch report listed a fix for a case where the quest failed to progress if the player died during “Defend Zomey.” That addresses a specific failure condition; it does not establish that every later Zomey, marker, or wreckage interaction problem was fixed. Ubisoft’s March 2024 Title Update 3 and 3.1 article describes more than 150 improvements overall and includes an adjustment to Zomey’s scent trail. Ubisoft’s January 2026 Title Update 2.6 notes mention a progression fix for the separate quest “A Blessing,” but do not name The Missing Hunter in the surfaced notes. If the quest still will not progress
Contact Ubisoft Support and provide details that can distinguish your issue from other quest blocks:
- Your platform and the game version shown on your system.
- The exact current objective, including whether the block occurs during “Defend Zomey” or at the aircraft.
- What happens when you try the interaction or wait for the objective to update.
- A short video or screenshot, if you can capture the missing marker, failed prompt, or unchanged objective.
There is no evidence here that deleting a save or reinstalling is a proven general fix, so do not treat either as a reliable repair for this quest.
