Tech Times’ April 17, 2024 article names four games and describes their appeal in broad gameplay terms. It does not provide a scoring method or comparative testing, so treat these as play-style matches rather than ranked winners.

What gacha means for your spending
Gacha describes randomized collection or reward mechanics, commonly supported by in-game purchases. The games in this list should therefore be considered not only by their combat or setting, but also by whether you are comfortable with a collection system that can invite spending. The cited sources do not establish current pull odds, the cost of obtaining particular characters, or how much an individual player needs to spend in any of these games.

Sensor Tower’s 2024 State of Gaming report says: “In the Mid-core market, where Gacha is the prevailing monetization mechanism, APAC spearheads revenue, with four out of the top five top games being oriented towards the East.” This is a statement about Sensor Tower’s mid-core market classification and regional revenue patterns, not a judgment about any one game or what players personally spend. The report’s revenue estimates cover in-app purchases from the App Store and Google Play; they exclude advertising, third-party Android markets, and direct payments through manufacturers’ websites and other channels. Unless identified as net income, the figures are before platform fees.
A historical revenue figure, not a cost guide
Sensor Tower listed Honkai: Star Rail at an estimated $670 million in worldwide App Store and Google Play revenue in its 2023 mid-core chart, published in 2024. That figure is limited to the report’s stated stores, year, and methodology; it is neither current revenue nor a total across every payment channel. It says nothing about an individual player’s likely spending. The report’s extracted text contains an apparent unit inconsistency for its Genshin Impact figure, so that number is not repeated here.

How to choose among the four
- Choose Genshin Impact if roaming an open world is the main draw.
- Choose AFK Arena if character collection and an accessible presentation sound appealing.
- Choose Honkai: Star Rail if you want turn-based strategy rather than real-time action.
- Choose Arknights if you want to plan around tower-defense encounters and collected characters.
Before installing, check the current listing in your country’s App Store or Google Play and confirm that your device supports the available version. The source list dates to 2024, and neither it nor the cited market data establishes current regional availability, versions, or mechanics. Apple’s editorial feature includes Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, but a selective feature is not a complete ranking or confirmation that all four games are available in every region.
