Fill a region’s Contribution meter to gain a point, then use it at that region’s Contribution Shop. These points are separate from Coin, cannot be transferred between regions, and are not the same thing as your Contribution level.
How Contribution levels and points work
Each region has its own Contribution progress and shop. Filling a region’s meter grants one Contribution point, which you can spend on special items at that region’s shop. The points are a separate currency from Coin, and you cannot earn points in one region and spend them in another. PC Gamer’s March 19, 2026 guide and Shacknews’ March 19, 2026 guide describe this regional system.

How to earn Contribution points
PC Gamer reports several ways to raise Contribution:
- Complete Requests from notice boards.
- Complete Bounties, which the guide says unlock in Chapter 2.
- Give money to beggars.
- Complete certain main quests.
- Free Pailunese refugees from bandits.
- Liberate bandit hideouts and strongholds.
For a practical approach, look for nearby Requests and Bounties first, then take Contribution-earning actions that fit objectives you are already pursuing. PC Gamer describes these tasks as time-effective when they are close to your route, but the available guides do not provide numbers to rank every method by points per hour.

Where to spend points
Spend points at the Contribution Shop for the same region where you earned them. For Hernand, PC Gamer places the shop in Hernand Castle: go through the door down and to the right of the interior gate leading to the main keep. The route may change with updates, so check the current in-game map and shop access if you cannot find it.
Compare an item’s point cost and usefulness before buying. The available guides do not establish a complete, current shop inventory or price list, so check the in-game shop for the choices available in your build.

What happens if your Contribution level drops?
Shacknews reports that losing Contribution levels does not remove points you have already earned. However, you must regain your former level before you can earn additional points. In other words, a level loss can pause further point gains without taking away your existing balance.
Can you get points back by selling an item?
PC Gamer reports that items bought with Contribution can be sold back at the shop for the same amount of Contribution, allowing you to redirect those points to other items. Treat that as a reported mechanic rather than a guarantee for every item or later game version: check the current sell-back value in the shop before buying something you may want to return.

Does stealing still lower Contribution if nobody sees you?
Not according to later reporting. PC Gamer’s March 19 guide said stealing always reduced Contribution, whether or not the player was caught. Its March 29, 2026 patch coverage later reported that criminal acts no longer reduce Contribution when no NPC witnesses them. The later report qualifies the earlier blanket rule; the exact change was not confirmed in an official patch note in the reviewed sources. Check the current build, since game updates can change the penalty.
