There is no single counter that works for every entity: the response depends on what the entity does. This guide covers four recognizable examples—Figure, Seek, Rush, and Ambush—and gives practical ways to approach them. It is not a verified roster of every entity: current sources do not establish a complete, authoritative list or confirm every counter across all floors and subfloors.
What should you know before facing an entity?
Google Play’s beginner guide describes DOORS as a first-person horror and exploration game where players move through rooms, avoid entities, collect items, and solve progression challenges. Its advice to locate hiding places, keep useful items in mind, and search drawers and other places as rooms allow is a useful starting point—not a guarantee against every encounter.

- As you enter a room, notice where you could take cover if you need to.
- Search drawers and other places the room allows for items, and pay attention to what you already carry.
- Listen and watch for signs that an encounter is beginning, but do not assume every entity uses the same cue or counter.
The official Floor 2 listing recommends learning through trial and error: “HEAVILY RECOMMENDED to play without any help or guide, as the game is trial and error. Use each death as a lesson.” Google Play’s guide also notes that the death screen can offer a clue for a later run. Use those clues to adjust your response rather than treating one failed attempt as proof that every encounter works the same way.
What do the four commonly described entities do?
The following behaviors come from Google Play’s editorial guide. It is an introduction, not a complete mechanics manual.

| Entity | Behavior described | Encounter context |
|---|---|---|
| Figure | Cannot see, but hears very well | Sound-sensitive threat |
| Seek | A pursuer that chases players | A sequence of rooms |
| Rush | Charges quickly through rooms | Room traversal |
| Ambush | Can eliminate players caught without hiding | Hiding is the recommended response |
How should you respond to each one?
Figure: treat sound as the risk
Because Figure is described as blind but highly sensitive to sound, avoid unnecessary noise and pay close attention to your surroundings. The cited guide does not establish a precise movement pattern or a guaranteed hiding method, so do not rely on a memorized script as a universal counter.
Seek: treat it as a pursuit
Seek chases through a sequence of rooms. Treat the encounter as a chase rather than an ordinary room to search: keep your attention on getting through the pursuit, and do not pause to explore unless the live encounter clearly allows it. The exact length and mechanics are not established as fixed rules here.

Rush: get out of its path
Rush is described as charging through rooms, and the guide warns against being in its line of sight while it rushes. When you recognize the encounter, prioritize reaching safety instead of continuing exposed through the room. The guide does not document a precise current warning cue, so learn the cue in your game rather than assuming a particular sound or visual signal is guaranteed.
Ambush: hide rather than remain exposed
The guide’s core advice is to hide; it says players caught without hiding are eliminated. Take that warning seriously when Ambush appears. Its exact timing and any repeated-pass behavior are not established here, so avoid assuming a fixed duration or a particular number of passes.

Does this cover every DOORS monster?
No. The available evidence supports these four examples, but it does not verify every entity or counter across all DOORS floors and subfloors. The independent DOORS fan entity index says it covers the Hotel, Mines, and subfloors and can help identify names and topics to investigate. It describes itself as non-official, so its scope is not proof of a canonical, complete roster or of current mechanics.
That distinction matters because the official DOORS listing by LSPLASH cautions that “Many things are subject to change, and some things may break.” A counter that works in one version, floor, or encounter should not automatically be treated as a timeless rule for the whole game.

How can you learn an unfamiliar encounter safely?
- Identify the behavior. Decide whether the threat seems to hear you, pursue you, rush through a room, or require hiding. Do not force an unfamiliar entity into one of those categories without evidence.
- Look for an immediate safe response. Use available cover or hiding places when appropriate, and avoid lingering in an obvious path during a rush or pursuit.
- Use the result to adjust. If a run ends, read any death-screen clue and change one part of your response on the next attempt.
- Recheck after changes. DOORS updates can alter behavior; confirm an unfamiliar or recently changed encounter in the live game.
The official listings warn that DOORS includes loud sounds and flashing lights. The Floor 2 listing recommends headphones, which may help you hear game audio; they do not guarantee survival. Consider the warning if you are sensitive to these effects.
