Half-Life: Alyx: a VR-focused single-player adventure
Half-Life: Alyx is labeled “VR Only” on its Steam listing, making it a more specialized choice than a standard keyboard-and-mouse PC game. Steam lists a GTX 1060 / RX 580 with 6GB VRAM in its graphics requirements; that is a stated requirement, not a guarantee of performance on every setup. Valve describes SteamVR-compatible systems, including Quest connected to a PC with a Link Cable, and notes an update for Steam Frame standalone play. Check requirements and controls before you buy
“New gaming PC” does not specify a graphics card, processor, memory, or headset, so it cannot establish that a particular game will run well. Open the current store page for each game and compare its requirements with your system. Requirements and device compatibility can change, and performance depends on the rest of the setup as well.

- Confirm the platform: Check that the listing supports your operating system and storefront, and do not assume a PC-focused pick is permanently exclusive to PC.
- Match the experience: Look for solo or multiplayer play, competitive or relaxed pacing, and any VR label before committing.
- Check the input: Keyboard and mouse can suit PC games, but a mouse is optional for many players and is not a universal requirement. Use the control information on the game’s listing to see whether a controller or VR equipment is supported.
- Verify the commitment: Confirm whether the game is free-to-play or paid on its current store page. Do not assume a subscription or cloud option is available everywhere; Xbox says cloud gaming and Game Pass access vary by title, plan, region, and time.
