Tormented Trobbio is an Act 3 rematch in Hollow Knight: Silksong, not the first Trobbio encounter. To summon him, accept the Pain, Anguish and Misery Wish at Songclave’s Wishwell, then return to The Stage in the Whispering Vaults with the Wish active. The fight awards the Dark Mirror, which combines with the Claw Mirror from the earlier Trobbio fight.

Where to find Tormented Trobbio
The arena is The Stage, in the Whispering Vaults, which connects to the Choral Chambers. Trobbio will not appear just because you revisit the arena: the Pain, Anguish and Misery Wish must be active.
How to start the Pain, Anguish and Misery Wish
- Reach Act 3 and complete Return to Pharloom. The Wish becomes available after those progression requirements, according to the Wish guide.
- Go to Songclave’s Wishwell and accept Pain, Anguish and Misery.
- With the Wish active, return to The Stage to begin the rematch. See the The Stage location guide.
What to expect in the fight
The Hollow Knight Wiki lists Tormented Trobbio at 950 HP. It also gives names to his attacks, but notes that most of those labels are non-canon; the descriptions below focus on the visible hazards. Treat them as convenient identifiers rather than official game terminology. These mechanics and figures are documented by the Hollow Knight Wiki boss entry, not presented as firsthand testing.

Read the floor and delayed effects
- When Trobbio travels across the arena in a whirlwind, he can send two arcing projectiles. Sparkling trails also explode after a delay, so avoid treating a trail as harmless once it passes.
- Some attacks mark the floor with plus- or cross-shaped lines before delayed explosions, then scatter sparkling circles. Other bouncing bombs settle and release smoke pillars in plus or cross patterns.
- When Trobbio goes underground, the floorboards rattle as he moves. He is invulnerable during this shuffle, so wait for him to reappear rather than spending attacks into the floor.
- His horizontal airborne movement, called “Flutter” by the wiki, is identified there as a useful damage opportunity.
Phase two: staggered fire pillars
At 375 HP, the fight enters phase two. Seven fire pillars erupt at staggered intervals, telegraphed by fizzles beneath the floor. Trobbio launches from the fifth pillar, but two more pillars follow and remain dangerous. Keep tracking the remaining floor warnings instead of moving into the space just vacated by his launch.

Defeating him awards the Dark Mirror and completes Pain, Anguish and Misery. The Dark Mirror combines with the Claw Mirror from the earlier Trobbio fight to form Claw Mirrors, which emits a damaging blast when Hornet binds. The rematch also counts as a separate kill in the Hunter’s Journal.

The Hunter’s Journal describes him as: “Depressed thespian, consumed by the melancholy of a collapsing world.” Hornet’s note reads: “This one chose to embrace the doom to come. I shall not share such easy surrender.” Both lines are transcribed in the Hollow Knight Wiki entry.
