Spoilers: This guide reveals major story choices and all four endings of Triangle Strategy. The game has three character-led endings—Benedict’s, Roland’s, and Frederica’s—and a Golden Ending. The regular endings branch from the Chapter 17 decision; the Golden Route requires a specific sequence of earlier choices.
How paths work in Triangle Strategy
Triangle Strategy uses votes on the Scales of Conviction to determine pivotal decisions. As Square Enix puts it, “Important decisions that will decide the fate of the protagonist and his allies will be determined by a vote using the Scales of Conviction.” Choices can affect both the story and which allied units join your cause; a route is more than a different ending scene.

Many chapters include smaller variations, but the main ending choice comes in Chapter 17. If you have met the Golden Route requirements, you can pursue that route instead of choosing one of the three standard endings.
What happens in each ending
| Ending | Serenoa’s choice | Key consequence |
|---|---|---|
| Benedict’s | Align House Wolffort with Aesfrost. | Roland leaves because he cannot accept the plan, and Serenoa becomes heir of Glenbrook. |
| Roland’s | Stand with Roland and abandon the Roselle. | Frederica leaves House Wolffort in response. |
| Frederica’s | Follow Frederica and the Roselle. | Benedict stays behind to protect the Wolffort Demesne. |
| Golden Ending | Find a way forward that keeps the three companions together. | Benedict, Roland, and Frederica lead separate forces against threats on multiple fronts and support the Roselle rebellion. |
These outcomes reflect competing convictions rather than an objectively correct ending. The route summaries and consequences are described in iMore’s paths guide.
#1 Best Overall
- Battle for control of precious resources after being entangled in a surging conflict between nations
- Your decisions affect the story in dramatic ways
- Multiple characters will weigh in on critical decisions by casting their votes on the Scales of Conviction
- Strategically maneuver characters around multi-tiered battlefields to gain the upper hand
- Use the terrain to your advantage by flanking enemies or linking elemental attacks to take down your opponents
Earlier choices that change the journey
Not every branch changes which ending you receive, but earlier decisions can alter recruits, battles, and chapter scenes. The main visible examples include:
- Chapter 3: Visiting Aesfrost or Hyzante determines whether Rudolph Mueller or Corentin Jennar joins.
- Chapter 7: Decide whether to surrender Roland or resist. If you resist, you may choose to burn village homes to trap Avlora’s army.
- Chapter 11: Decide whether to protect the Roselle.
- Chapter 15: The destination you choose affects which character can join.
- Chapter 17: The decisive branch for the standard endings, unless you qualify for the Golden Route.
Square Enix’s official game overview describes choices as affecting both your path through the story and which allied units join your cause.

Golden Route requirements
The Golden Route is not unlocked by raising a single conviction score. The specific sequence below comes from Rebecca Spear’s iMore Golden Route walkthrough. Follow it as a checklist if you want to preserve access to the route:
- Chapters 1–2: Let the votes proceed without influencing them.
- Chapter 3: Either destination works.
- Chapters 4–6: Let the votes proceed without influencing them.
- Chapter 7: Either broad choice can work. If you harbor Roland, do not use the traps to burn the town.
- Chapter 8: The choice does not affect Golden Route access, according to the walkthrough.
- Chapter 9: Agree to transport Sorsley’s illegal salt.
- Chapter 10: Reveal that Roland is alive and disclose his identity to Svarog.
- Chapter 11: Protect the Roselle.
- Chapter 12: Find the key in the Roselle village elder’s house. The walkthrough says Frederica must distract him outside.
- Chapter 13: Either choice works.
- Chapter 14: Let the vote proceed without influencing it.
- Chapter 15: Return to Wolffort and speak with Symon.
- Chapter 16: Let the vote proceed without influencing it.
- Chapter 17: Choose “There must be another way.” Then answer the four follow-up questions with the exact options below:
- “Greet them with the Wolffort demesne’s wildfire?”
- “Might Lord Svarog be the key?”
- “We can expose the truth hidden within the Goddess’s statue.”
- “They’re of the Consortium.”
According to that walkthrough, completing the sequence opens two additional chapters and allows General Avlora to join. These are walkthrough details, not claims from Square Enix’s official overview.

Choosing a route for your first playthrough
Choose based on the political outcome and companion consequences you want to see, not on a claim that one ending is universally best. Benedict’s route favors an Aesfrost alliance; Roland’s stands with Hyzante; Frederica’s prioritizes Roselle freedom; and the Golden Route attempts a multi-front resolution. The Golden Route takes planning across earlier chapters, while the standard endings are decided at the final branch. Earlier decisions can also affect recruitment and chapter variation.
