To complete Trouble in Paradise in Dying Light: The Beast, start the quest with Beth and Brad at Old Hideout, investigate the UV-light failure on Paradise Island, replace the fuse, handle the infected drawn by the alarm, finish the island objectives, then return to the siblings. The quest rewards 7,500 XP, a Bruiser Cap, and 2 Beginner Manual Pages.
How to start Trouble in Paradise
Activate the Old Hideout Safe Zone, then return and look for Beth and Brad or the quest marker. Sources differ on the exact prerequisite: some describe the quest as available shortly after activating Old Hideout, while another places its marker after the main-story quest A New Strain. If the siblings or marker are not there, advance the story through A New Strain and check Old Hideout again.
Trouble in Paradise walkthrough
- Talk to Beth and Brad. Accept the quest at Old Hideout Safe Zone.
- Go to Paradise Island and clear the infected. The island is outside town; deal with nearby threats so you can investigate safely.
- Inspect the UV lights and trace their cable. Start near the cabin and follow the connection to the locked shack.
- Enter the shack and inspect the switch. Investigate the makeshift switch and the short circuit. One walkthrough reports an Easy lock, but lock details may vary; follow the lock prompt shown in your game.
- Follow the damaged cable toward the water. Identify the short and unplug the damaged cable as directed by the quest.
- Look for the working fuse. Search the nearby house area, including work surfaces and the interior around Pammie’s body. Guide descriptions differ on its precise placement.
- Replace the fuse. This triggers a sound or alarm that attracts infected, so be ready to fight immediately.
- Complete the remaining island objectives. Destroy the speaker, raise the bridge, and clear any remaining infected. The order in which these tasks are presented can differ; use the active quest markers and complete all of them.
- Return to Old Hideout. Speak with Beth and Brad to turn in the quest.
Clues to inspect on Paradise Island
Clues tell the story of a dispute about using infected as fish bait and suggest the island’s UV-light power was deliberately compromised. The quest’s findings include an Electrical Schematic, a Group Tally, Advice for Our Fishers, and Pammie’s Last Words. The findings index lists five notes and one tape in total; inspect all marked clues before leaving if you want the full environmental story.
Trouble in Paradise rewards
Completing the quest grants 7,500 XP, a Bruiser Cap, and 2 Beginner Manual Pages.
