What is Star Trek: Resurgence?
Star Trek: Resurgence is an interactive narrative adventure set after Star Trek: The Next Generation. You play as two members of the U.S.S. Resolute crew: First Officer Jara Rydek and engineering crewperson Carter Diaz. Their investigation draws them into a mystery involving two alien civilizations on the brink of war. StarTrek.com introduced the game in 2021 as an original story developed by Dramatic Labs, a team described as including Telltale Games veterans: Star Trek: Resurgence announced.
How does it play?
Choices and relationships are central, but the game is not limited to dialogue. Its PlayStation Store description also lists exploration, shuttle piloting, phaser fights, tricorder scanning, stealth, and short micro-gameplay sequences: PlayStation Store description. That description outlines the game across platforms; it is not evidence of Switch-specific performance.
Kevin Bruner, Dramatic Labs founder, described the studio’s aim as putting players at the center of the action, where their choices affect the narrative. That is a statement of intent, not a guarantee that every decision produces a major or wholly distinct outcome.

When did it come out on Switch?
The original release and the Switch port arrived at different times. StarTrek.com announced the initial release date and platforms in May 2023; Nintendo Life later reported the Switch launch and subsequent eShop delisting.

Can you still buy Star Trek: Resurgence on Switch?
Nintendo Life reported that the Switch version had disappeared from the eShop by May 6, 2026, attributing the delisting to a license-expiration announcement from publisher Brunerhouse. That is secondary reporting, and storefront availability can vary or change. Check the Nintendo eShop for your region before assuming the game is unavailable or available to buy; if you purchased it previously, consult your account’s redownload options.

Is it really underrated?
“Underrated” is an opinion in the headline, not a measured conclusion. The available sources establish the game’s premise, platforms, and gameplay elements, but do not provide sales figures, review scores, or evidence of a broad critical consensus. A more concrete reason it may interest Star Trek fans is its focus on an original, TNG-era story told through crew decisions rather than a purely action-led format.
