Getting admin in a community or game means receiving permissions from its owner or another authorized role manager. Those permissions apply only where they are configured.
What “administrator” means on Roblox
| Type | Who grants it | Where it applies | Legitimate route |
|---|---|---|---|
| Roblox staff administrator | Roblox, through employment | Staff identity on the platform | Apply for a Roblox job and be hired |
| Community or game administrator | A community or group owner, or a member authorized to manage roles | The community, group, or configured creator resources | Ask an authorized owner or role manager to assign the relevant permissions |
Roblox Support says administrator badges are given to people who work for Roblox so the community can identify them. It also states that administrators and moderators are adults over 18 who work at Roblox as a paid job. The badge is a staff identifier, not a prize for completing a task in a game.
How to apply to work for Roblox
Roblox directs job seekers to its Job Application Site or the Jobs link on Roblox pages. Applicants must be at least 18 according to Roblox Support. Check the live careers listing for available roles; applying does not guarantee a job or a particular administrator title. This is an employment process, not a separate badge application.
How to get admin in a community or group
Community roles
A community owner can create a role, give it a name such as “Admin,” choose its permissions, and assign it to members. Other members can manage roles only if they have the necessary permissions. Role hierarchy also limits which members a role manager can affect. The name “Admin” is chosen by the community; it does not make the holder Roblox staff.

Group-owned experiences
Group roles can grant access to specific work and operations, including playtesting, editing, publishing, monetization management, and community tasks. The group owner or a role with the required permissions controls assignments. These privileges concern that group’s creations and do not grant platform-wide authority.
If you want these permissions, ask the owner or an authorized manager of the particular community or group. There is no universal Roblox setting that gives a player admin in every game; each creator or group controls its own access.

Studio command permissions are not staff status
Roblox Studio has developer-facing permission levels for commands. Plugin is the standard plugin security level; LocalUser is a higher level reserved for IDE-only APIs. Roblox also documents script capabilities, which limit what a script may do. The documentation describes that feature as experimental and available as a client beta, so its availability may change.
These are technical controls for creators working in Studio, not ways to obtain a Roblox staff badge or admin powers in someone else’s experience. Roblox Creator Hub’s script capabilities documentation also discusses security risks such as client-replicated content being inspected. Creators should keep sensitive logic on the server and configure access intentionally; exploiting a game is not legitimate authorization.

How to recognize real Roblox staff and avoid scams
Roblox says staff have an Admin icon next to their profile display name and a staff marker on in-experience leaderboards. If someone claims to be a Roblox administrator but lacks the badge, Roblox advises reporting the profile. Roblox administrators will never ask for your password.
