Use Free Camera on PC or Mac
- Enter Free Camera: Press Tab. This shortcut is listed in EA’s screenshot tips guide.
- Move and look around: Use W/A/S/D and Q/E to move. Use the mouse to look around. EA’s video-making guide describes the interface as hidden in Free Camera mode.
- Adjust the view: Press Z or X to zoom.
- Capture: Press C to save a screenshot.
- Save a framing position: Press Ctrl+5, Ctrl+6, Ctrl+7, Ctrl+8, or Ctrl+9 to store the current camera position. Press the matching number key later to recall it.
These keyboard labels come from EA’s screenshot guide, dated April 14, 2016. Key mappings can vary with keyboard layout or localization; EA’s older video guide uses localized labels, so do not assume the same letters apply on every layout.

Try the camera control on console
An EA Community Manager’s guidance in an EA Forums thread about PS4 camera controls is to select the camera icon in the upper-right corner from Build Mode or Live Mode. Treat this as a route to try rather than a guaranteed control: players in the same thread reported that the icon was missing in some contexts. If you do not see it, check which mode you are in and the controls shown in your current game interface.
Compose a better screenshot
Choose the subject and moment
Decide what should draw the viewer’s eye, then position the camera around that subject. EA recommends pausing to inspect an animation and finding the moment you want to capture; a paused frame also gives you time to adjust the angle.

Use light and detail deliberately
Consider the time of day and the shadows it creates. Add scene details selectively, and light the subject so attention goes where you intend. A busy background or poorly lit subject can compete with the moment you are trying to show.
