The Logitech G733 includes a USB-A LIGHTSPEED wireless receiver that can plug into a PS5, but Logitech’s compatibility information names PlayStation 4 and does not list PlayStation 5. Treat PS5 use as unverified, not guaranteed, and check the console’s audio and microphone menus once the headset is connected.
What Logitech’s compatibility information says
Logitech describes the G733’s connection as LIGHTSPEED wireless over USB and includes a USB-A LIGHTSPEED receiver in the box. Its compatibility list names a USB 2.0 Type-A port, Windows, macOS, and PlayStation 4. PlayStation 5 is not named. That gap is the core of the question: the hardware connection is plausible, but the manufacturer has not put the console on its list in the material reviewed for this article.
Logitech also says some advanced G733 features are unavailable on PlayStation 4. Those features are DTS Headphone:X 2.0, Blue VO!CE, and LIGHTSYNC RGB. The same product page does not state which of them work on PS5, so the PS4 wording should not be read as a PS5 feature guarantee.
What PlayStation’s documentation says
PlayStation’s PS5 audio settings documentation lets users choose an audio output device and a microphone input device, and adjust microphone level. It also notes that the available settings vary by device and configuration. Its compatibility caveat is direct: “For information about headset compatibility and use, check with your device’s manufacturer. Not all devices work with your console.”

In practical terms, the console’s menus can show a connected headset, but a menu entry does not prove that the headset’s features, such as its microphone, will behave as they do on a supported platform.
How to try the G733 on a PS5
- Connect the receiver. Plug the included USB-A LIGHTSPEED receiver into a USB-A port on the PS5 and switch on the headset. Logitech documents the receiver as the headset’s wireless connection, but its cited compatibility list does not confirm PS5 support.
- Select the output. Go to Settings > Sound > Audio Output and choose the G733 from the available output devices. PlayStation also offers an automatic output-device switching option; if the console changes output on its own, review that setting.
- Select the microphone. Open the PS5 microphone input controls and choose the headset if it appears. Adjust the microphone level in the same area. Expected result: the headset is listed and selected as the input.
- Test both directions. Play game or system audio to confirm sound comes through the headset, then speak and check that the console registers your voice at a usable level.
If the headset does not appear or does not work
- No G733 in the output list: Confirm the receiver is fully seated in a USB-A port and that the headset is switched on. If it still does not appear, the connection is not working on this console, and the sources reviewed do not offer a workaround.
- Audio works but the microphone does not: Recheck the microphone input selection and level. The headset may be receiving sound while the console is using a different input.
- Do not rely on adapters or converters: The sources reviewed do not establish a supported adapter or replacement receiver that makes the G733 work with PS5. A generic converter is not a verified fix.
- Need a firm answer: Ask Logitech for model-specific PS5 confirmation. PlayStation’s own caveat directs headset compatibility questions to the device manufacturer.
