What is the Viper Commandos Warbond?
Arrowhead announced Viper Commandos on June 6, 2024, for release on June 13. Its theme is jungle and swamp reconnaissance, reflected in its armor, camouflage patterns, and equipment. The announcement also explained that Arrowhead was moving toward slower Warbond releases with more emphasis on coordinated themes and item quality. As community manager Katherine Baskin put it, “It’s time to focus on quality over quantity.” Read the official announcement.

What does it include?
Weapons
- AR-23A Liberator Carbine: A shortened Liberator variant described by Arrowhead as faster-handling but higher-recoil, intended for close-range use.
- SG-22 Bushwhacker: A triple-barrel sawed-off shotgun secondary with two firing modes, including an option to fire all three barrels at once.
Armor and passive
- PH-9 Predator: An armor set inspired by a veteran Viper Commando.
- PH-202 Twigsnapper: A heavy jungle armor set.
Both sets were announced with Peak Physique, which Arrowhead describes as improving melee damage and weapon handling. The announcement gives no numerical effect values, and those descriptions should not be read as a current-patch performance test.
Utility and cosmetics
- K-2 throwing knife: A throwable utility item.
- Experimental Infusion: A booster described as giving stims a temporary movement-speed increase and damage reduction.
- Vehicle camouflage: Woodland and tiger-stripe patterns for Hellpods, Exosuits, and Pelican-1.
- Other items: Capes, player cards, and emotes.
The announcement establishes the intended roles and theme, not present-day weapon rankings or exact live stats. Balance can change with patches.

How do you unlock Viper Commandos?
Warbonds work as in-game catalogs. Super Credits purchase access to a Warbond; War Medals earned through gameplay or objectives unlock its individual items. Spending medals on a page contributes toward opening the next page. These currencies serve different purposes: Super Credits buy access, while War Medals buy catalog items. - Make sure you own the Helldivers 2 base game.
- Acquire Super Credits and use them to purchase access to Viper Commandos in-game.
- Earn War Medals through gameplay or objectives, then spend them on the items and page unlocks you want.
PlayStation’s general Warbond information says access requires the base game, paid purchase of Super Credits, and game progression. The current general PlayStation page lists Premium Warbonds at 1,000 Super Credits, but it does not state a separately verified live Viper Commandos transaction price. Can you still get Viper Commandos?
Yes. Arrowhead support says existing Warbonds remain available for purchase, and PlayStation says Warbonds are not time-limited. Availability of the catalog is distinct from the cost and platform-specific purchase process, which may change; confirm the current details in-game.

It is most relevant if you want its close-range weapon options, Peak Physique armor passive, throwing knife, Experimental Infusion booster, or jungle-themed cosmetics. The two armor sets share the same announced passive, so their distinction in the announcement is chiefly the set identity and the Twigsnapper’s heavy armor description. The official descriptions do not establish how the weapons or passive compare with current alternatives, and they do not support a current meta ranking. For a purchase decision, weigh the specific items you want against your available Super Credits; use the in-game listing for the live price and current item details.
