If WWE 2K25 keeps closing on your PS5, start by fully restarting the console, then install any available game and system updates. A crash during launch, one mode, an online feature, or custom-content loading can have different causes, so note what you were doing and any error code before moving on to more disruptive steps. The checks below follow official 2K and PlayStation guidance; they are suggestions, not guaranteed fixes.
Try these checks first
- Close the game and fully restart the PS5. Let the console shut down completely, then start it again and relaunch WWE 2K25. 2K recommends a full shutdown so the console can resynchronize and process updates. See 2K’s PS5 console troubleshooting guide.
- Check for a WWE 2K25 update. Open Game Library, highlight the game, and check for updates. Install any update offered before testing again. For error CE-108255-1, 2K specifically recommends checking for a game update.
- Update PS5 system software. Go to Settings > System > System Software > System Software Update and Settings and check for an update. Follow the console’s current prompts.
- Pin down when it crashes. Record whether it closes at launch, in a particular mode, after a specific action, or while loading downloaded or custom content. If you can repeat the same sequence, write down the steps; reproducibility is useful evidence, not proof the console is defective.
- Test the connection only if online play is involved. Go to Settings > Network > Test Internet Connection. Then check the official WWE 2K status information for service notices. A successful or failed network test alone does not establish that connectivity caused a local game crash.
- Check free console storage. 2K says updates and new content cannot install once storage is completely used. Free space if the console is full, then retry the update or game.
- Reinstall the game if simpler checks fail. Delete WWE 2K25 and install it again. 2K recommends reinstalling for CE-108255-1, and PlayStation lists reinstalling among the steps for certain game-start errors. It takes time, so try the checks above first.
- Use Safe Mode to rebuild the database. Back up saved data first. Turn the PS5 off; hold the power button again and release it after the second beep. Connect the controller with a USB cable and press the PS button. Choose Clear Cache and Rebuild Database > Rebuild Database, following the labels currently shown on screen. 2K and PlayStation list this as an option, not a guaranteed repair.
- If the game is on an SSD, try it there as a diagnostic. 2K suggests trying an SSD for CE-108255-1 when one is available. This is a troubleshooting suggestion, not evidence that an SSD will fix the crash.
- Send a useful report to support. Include the exact error code, game patch, mode, steps immediately before the crash, and whether custom content was involved. Add screenshots or video if possible. Contact 2K if the details point to a game-specific issue; PlayStation support is also appropriate for console errors or problems across games.
What the error code can tell you
CE-108255-1
2K describes this as a crash bug that occurs when an application suddenly closes. Its suggested checks are a game update, reinstalling, trying an SSD if available, and rebuilding the database in Safe Mode. When reporting it, include the mode, patch, and actions immediately before the close. See 2K’s CE-108255-1 guidance.
CE-34878-0
WWE 2K support says a sudden close with this code may be a WWE 2K crash bug and directs players to PlayStation guidance. The support report should also say whether the issue involves a custom Superstar, championship, arena, or Community Creations content, and should include visual evidence when possible. See 2K’s CE-34878-0 support article.
CE-109573-5
PlayStation describes this as an error when starting a game. Its guidance recommends restarting, deleting and reinstalling the game, rebuilding the database, and updating system software if the issue continues. That general PlayStation error page does not establish that WWE 2K25 specifically causes this code. See PlayStation’s CE-109573-5 guidance.

Back up saved data before Safe Mode steps
2K advises backing up saved data to cloud storage or USB before Safe Mode repair or update actions. Safe Mode starts with the console off: hold the power button until the second beep, connect the controller by USB, then press PS. Depending on the issue, 2K names Repair Console Storage, Update System Software, and Clear Cache and Rebuild Database as relevant options. For CE-108255-1, its specific database procedure is Clear Cache and Rebuild Database > Rebuild Database. Consult 2K’s current console troubleshooting directions and follow the labels shown by your PS5.
Check for current game and service notices
Patch notes and service status can change. The WWE 2K25 patch-information page, published March 4, 2025 and updated July 28, 2025, directs players to the WWE 2K Discord #game-updates channel for announcements. The server-status article, published and updated July 25, 2025, points to the official status page for known or ongoing issues. These pages do not establish one universal PS5 crash or a single patch that fixes every crash; check them for current notices. See WWE 2K25 patch information and WWE 2K server status.

When to contact support
If the same crash continues after the relevant checks, report the exact error and the circumstances rather than describing it only as “the game crashes.” WWE 2K asks for the mode, patch, reproduction steps, custom-content context, and screenshots or video where possible. Keep the report focused on what you observed; a crash by itself does not diagnose a hardware fault. 2K’s error guidance provides a route to submit a support ticket, while PlayStation has its own PS5 error-code help.
