Community reports name several candidates for play through a flash cartridge; they are not independent tests or a guarantee that every release will work.
What makes an N64 wrestling mod playable on a real console?
A ROM patch changes data in a base game image, such as WWF No Mercy or WCW/nWo Revenge. If the patch is designed for console hardware and fits the hardware’s constraints, it may run on an original N64 when loaded with a compatible flash cartridge. A texture modification or a setup that depends on many GameShark codes is different: it may rely on emulator features or memory capacity the original console and cartridge do not provide.

For a practical check, look for the creator’s exact release, required base-game revision, and any stated cartridge or emulator instructions. A compatibility report for one patch and cartridge model should not be generalized to other versions or devices.

Projects to treat as unconfirmed or emulator-oriented
WCW/nWo Revenge DX
A community announcement described WCW/nWo Revenge DX as intended for real consoles, emulators, and flash cartridges, with goals that include using material from other N64 AKI wrestling games and WCW Mayhem. That statement describes the project’s intent; it does not establish that a complete release is currently available. Project announcement
High-resolution textures and code-heavy setups
High-resolution texture packs and modifications that require very large combinations of GameShark codes are poor candidates for original-console play, according to community guidance. Such setups are better treated as emulator-oriented unless a specific creator documents otherwise. A secondary overview also describes hardware and flash-cartridge constraints that can limit texture-heavy projects, but it is not a definitive list of compatible mods. WWF No Mercy: Recompiled
WWF No Mercy: Recompiled is a native PC port based on static recompilation and requires a particular US Rev 1 ROM. It is not evidence that a patched N64 ROM runs on an original console. Project information

How to check a mod before trying it on your N64
- Identify the exact mod release. Find the creator’s release notes and confirm whether it is a patch for an N64 game, an emulator-only texture package, or a code-based setup.
- Match the required base-game revision. A patch may only work with a specific regional release or revision; do not assume another version is interchangeable.
- Check the hardware instructions. Look for an explicit statement about original-console support, flash cartridges, and any special loading requirements.
- Verify the cartridge and patch combination. The EverDrive X7 appears in one user’s report, but that does not establish compatibility for every cartridge model or every listed mod.
- Use lawful game images. Do not treat a patch as authorization to download a full commercial ROM; the cited discussions do not establish a lawful distribution method for every game image.
