Blizzard announced Warcraft III: Reforged Patch 2.0 and remastered editions of Warcraft I and II during its Warcraft 30th Anniversary Direct on November 13, 2024. Patch 2.0 brought selectable HD classic assets and interface, multiplayer, and editor changes to Reforged; the Warcraft I and II remasters added visual switching and usability updates. Blizzard said Warcraft II retained multiplayer and legacy custom-map support.
What Warcraft III: Reforged Patch 2.0 added
Blizzard’s Patch 2.0.0 notes describe changes across presentation, player options, multiplayer, and the World Editor. Blizzard said the patch was available to all Warcraft III: Reforged players when announced on November 13, 2024.
Selectable HD classic assets and updated environments
The update added HD versions of classic units, buildings, visual effects, heroes, environments, and icons. Players can choose between Reforged and Classic HD assets. Blizzard also said it updated Reforged environments and lighting.
Hotkeys, HUD, and match tools
Patch 2.0 added a hotkey customization screen and optional displays for actions per minute (APM), frames per second (FPS), timers, and ping. Players can configure in-game indicators and HUD options, filter custom games and replays in search, and view match-history replays when a replay has been saved. Warcraft I and II music became an option, and Warcraft I and II portraits were added.

Ranked play and matchmaking rules
Blizzard’s notes list ranked XP and leveling, revised rating bands and seasonal behavior, and new servers in Chicago and Sydney. They also specify that arranged teams can no longer match against random teams in 3v3 and 4v4. These are documented changes to progression, matchmaking rules, and server locations—not evidence that every player will experience improved matchmaking or competitive balance.
World Editor and fixes
The World Editor gained toggles for Reforged add-ons and foliage. The notes also list fixes affecting clan invites, a Demon Hunter vision issue, match-result processing, and launching on Mac.

What changed in the Warcraft I and II remasters
Blizzard’s announcement said both remasters let players switch between original and remastered graphics in real time. The announcement also described interface and usability changes for both games, including tooltips, health bars, mission selection, and increased unit selection.
Warcraft I: Remastered
Warcraft I adds right-click movement, box selection, and faster game speed, alongside the shared usability changes. These modernized controls address some of the friction of playing the original game, without changing what Blizzard’s announcement identifies as its underlying game.

The announcement does not provide an independent compatibility test, performance comparison, or accessibility audit, so those claims should be understood as Blizzard’s stated features rather than a broader technical assessment.
How to choose between the games and Battle Chest
At announcement, Blizzard directed players to the Battle.net shop for Warcraft I: Remastered, Warcraft II: Remastered, Warcraft III: Reforged, and the Battle Chest. Blizzard’s later Warcraft III Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom product page describes a separate campaign product: existing Reforged owners can add the campaign, while new players can choose Reforged or a combo. The page also says the Definitive Edition update comes at no additional cost to people who already have access to Reforged. This is later product information, not part of the November 2024 Patch 2.0 announcement.
