Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 added PC ultrawide support and private Operations in Patch 3.0, which went live on September 26, 2024. Those features were not part of the earlier Hotfix 2.1: Focus Entertainment’s September 11 post described that smaller update and said a larger patch would arrive later in the month.
When did Space Marine 2 add ultrawide support and private PvE?
Both arrived in Patch 3.0 on September 26, 2024. Focus Entertainment announced that the update was live and called it “packed with new features.” The patch included PC ultrawide support, private mode for Operations, and a Hub Sparring Arena, alongside other additions and gameplay changes. Read Focus Entertainment’s Patch 3.0 notes.
What did Hotfix 2.1 include?
The September 11, 2024 Hotfix 2.1 was a smaller release for PC and consoles. Its notes covered fixes for rare startup and first-cutscene crashes, other rare crashes, and rare story-mode soft locks. On PC, Focus also said it optimized CPU behavior on high-end CPUs. The post previewed a larger September patch; it did not say that ultrawide support, private Operations, or the arena were included in Hotfix 2.1. See the Hotfix 2.1 announcement.
What the Patch 3.0 features do
Ultrawide support is for PC
Focus listed the feature as “Ultrawide support for PC.” The announcement does not promise ultrawide support on consoles or specify display ratios, hardware requirements, or settings, so players should treat the claim as a PC feature rather than a platform-wide display guarantee.

Private mode applies to Operations
The new private option is specifically for Operation mode. Focus says players can run an Operation alone with bots or with one friend, without random players being matched into the mission. It is not described as a private lobby option for every game mode.
The Hub Sparring Arena enables friendly PvP
Located on the Battle Barge, the arena lets squadmates spar using weapons and grenades as they would in a PvP match. It is accessible while players are in Operations or Eternal War, giving a squad a place to practice or fight between other activities.

Other additions and context
Patch 3.0 also added a “What’s New & Message of the Day” feature and the option to reset custom colour presets. Focus’s October 2 community update later recapped PC ultrawide support, private Operations, and the Hub Sparring Arena as newly added features. Read the September Community Update.
The timing matters: an official Space Marine 2 announcement hosted on Steam celebrated two million players on September 10, 2024, before Hotfix 2.1 and Patch 3.0. That is a milestone reported at that time, not a current player count. See the September 10 milestone announcement.
