Digital Extremes, the studio behind Warframe, is developing Soulframe, a fantasy game set in the world of Alca and Midrath. It is currently playable only through Soulframe Preludes, the game’s evolving pre-alpha: players can sign up for the invitation queue, but access is not described as immediately open to everyone.
What is Soulframe?
Soulframe is Digital Extremes’ fantasy game, which the studio describes as a world of action, cooperation and nature. Players take the role of an Envoy in Alca and Midrath. The official site presents it as a separate project from Warframe, not as a fantasy expansion to that game. Digital Extremes’ official Soulframe site describes the project and its current development phase.

The studio calls the playable version Soulframe Preludes and labels it pre-alpha. Digital Extremes characterizes Preludes as “an early, evolving version of the game that players can experience as we build it openly and alongside the community.” That means features and presentation may change as development continues; it should not be mistaken for a finished release.
How do you get into Soulframe?
The official site invites interested players to sign up for the Preludes queue. Digital Extremes says it sends new invitations weekly, but joining the queue does not guarantee immediate access. Follow the signup instructions on the official Soulframe website and watch for an invitation.

Is Soulframe released, and when will it come out?
No full-release date is stated on the official pages reviewed. Preludes is an ongoing pre-alpha phase, not a release announcement, so there is no confirmed launch date or window to report.
Development updates continue to appear on the official site. As of October 8, 2026, its homepage featured Preludes 16: Of Hook & Hound and a hotfix dated September 29, 2026. That is a dated snapshot, not a promise that those will remain the newest updates; check the homepage for the latest status. The official media page also lists trailers and teasers, including material from TennoCon and TennoLive 2026.
What are Soulframe Founders and what do they include?
Founders is a separate way to support the project and receive specified benefits; it is not the same as joining the free Preludes invitation queue. According to the official Founders FAQ, updated May 20, 2026, Founder bundles are purchased through the Soulframe site on PC, not through Steam or another PC marketplace. The FAQ says no closing date has been set and Digital Extremes will give at least 30 days’ notice before the program closes. It also says a version of Founders will reopen for a limited time on new platforms when the game reaches them; that is not a dated platform or release announcement.
Founder bundles include Arcs, the game’s premium currency, which the FAQ says is typically acquired with real money. The FAQ says some Founder items, including Wyld Pact, weapons and talismans, will become available again after the program ends. The Paragon Greatsword is reserved for Paragon Founders; the FAQ describes a future ability for owners to craft and gift a named version.

These are physical merchandise collections, distinct from digital Founder bundles. The support FAQ describes eligibility requirements, shipping exclusions and the need to purchase a Founder bundle. Where can you hear Soulframe music?
The official media page links listening options for The Waste Bear on YouTube Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, Deezer and Apple Music, as well as a Bandcamp purchase link. It also lists Rivers of Dendria for listening. The official page does not establish that a physical soundtrack is available.
