Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV is scheduled to launch on December 3, 2026, for PC via Steam. Developed by KING Art Games and published by Deep Silver, the real-time strategy game returns to the planet Kronus with four playable factions and a campaign advertised at more than 70 missions.
When does Dawn of War IV come out?
The current release date is December 3, 2026. Warhammer Community’s September 30, 2026 update and the current Steam listing show that date. The game was first announced for a 2026 release without a specific day, and an August publisher FAQ still displays an earlier date that has since been superseded. Which platforms are confirmed?
PC (Windows) via Steam is the only confirmed platform in the official sources reviewed. No PlayStation or Xbox version has been announced in those sources, so console availability should not be assumed.
What kind of game is Dawn of War IV?
It is a real-time strategy entry that brings back mass battles and base building, along with an expanded Sync Kill system. KING Art Games is developing the game for publisher Deep Silver. Earlier Dawn of War entries were developed by Relic Entertainment, according to the publisher.

Which factions can you play?
The four launch factions are:
- Space Marines
- Orks
- Necrons
- Adeptus Mechanicus
Adeptus Mechanicus is making its Dawn of War debut. The faction lineup is confirmed in the Warhammer Community announcement and the September 30 update.
Where is the campaign set, and how long is it?
The campaign returns to Kronus, the planet featured in Dawn of War: Dark Crusade. The initial announcement describes more than 70 missions playable solo or with a friend, and names Black Library author John French as the campaign writer. That connects the new game to the earlier setting; it does not establish that Dawn of War IV is a direct sequel to Dark Crusade.

PLAION’s publisher FAQ estimates the campaign at 20 or more hours, while noting that actual time varies with play style and technical ability. Treat this as an estimate, not a guaranteed completion time. The game also lists Last Stand, Skirmish, and multiplayer modes in addition to the campaign. What is included in the Commander Edition?
Steam lists a base game edition and a Commander Edition. The Commander Edition includes the Year 1 Expansion and access three days before the main release. The base edition is the game without that stated expansion bundle or early-access window.
