Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Patch 3.0 went live on September 26, 2024. Its standout addition was a Sparring Arena aboard the Battle Barge, where squadmates can fight each other in friendly PvP. The update also added private Operations and PC ultrawide support.
What is the standout feature in Space Marine 2 Patch 3.0?
The new Hub Sparring Arena gives a squad a place to spar on the Battle Barge. It is available while playing Operations or Eternal War, and is intended for friendly PvP with squadmates—not a replacement for either full game mode. Focus Entertainment listed it among the patch’s new features in its September 26, 2024 patch notes.
The notes establish that the feature shipped; they do not report player reception or prove that fans as a group welcomed it. The appeal is straightforward: friends can practice fighting one another without turning the sparring session into a public match.
What else did Patch 3.0 add?
Private Operations
Private Operations lets you play an Operation alone with bots or alongside one friend. It avoids random matchmaking during the mission, making it an option for players who want a smaller, controlled group rather than a public squad. The patch notes do not describe it as a way to play with more than one human friend.

Ultrawide support on PC
Patch 3.0 added ultrawide support for the PC version. The publisher’s notes specify PC, so this should not be read as confirmation of ultrawide support on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series.

- An option to reset custom colour presets.

- Heavy Plasma received ammunition and damage/overheat adjustments.
- Med Stims began restoring contested health as well as actual health.
- Campaign changes adjusted Veteran difficulty and made bots more helpful.
These changes are not a single blanket difficulty reduction: the update altered specific weapons, healing behavior, and campaign elements.

Focus Entertainment’s patch notes label ultrawide support as a PC feature, while describing the Sparring Arena and private Operations without a platform-specific restriction. The publisher’s October 1, 2026 announcement says the game is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. That later availability statement does not change Patch 3.0’s September 2024 release date.
