That response indicates Larian wanted to make the port but did not control the decision. GameSpot reported that leaker NateTheHate2 had posted: “Have heard something on [Baldur’s Gate 3] for [Switch 2] but need more verification on it before I can share.” That is explicitly provisional language, not confirmation that a port was in development. GameSpot said it had contacted Larian for comment. The October 23, 2025 report described a possibility that still needed verification.

Vincke’s reported comment shifted the story from speculation to an indication that Larian had wanted to bring the game to the console, while clarifying that the decision was not its to make. It did not disclose the decision-maker or establish whether the decision could change.
September 30, 2026: no listing in Nintendo UK’s October roundup
Nintendo UK’s October 2026 upcoming-games roundup names a range of Switch 2 games but does not include Baldur’s Gate 3. That means the game was not announced in that particular roundup; a list’s omission is not proof that a later announcement is impossible.

Could there still be news soon?
It is possible for plans to change, but the available evidence does not support expecting an imminent release or treating the old rumor as a current development update. Nintendo’s May 2026 investor presentation discusses examples of third-party Switch 2 releases planned for April 2026 and beyond, but it is broad platform context, not evidence about Baldur’s Gate 3.
