Far Cry 6 New Game+ lets you replay the campaign with most of your equipment, choose a character and difficulty, and start over with campaign and world activities reset. It does not carry over every item or unlock. To begin, use a save that has completed the main campaign as your last-played save and select an empty slot.
What New Game+ adds to a replay
Ubisoft’s Title Update 6 patch notes, published on November 24, 2022, describe NG+ as a way to play the campaign again with most of your equipment. Its main benefit is a middle ground between a fresh campaign and a fully progressed save: you repeat the story, but bring along the equipment and selected unlocks Ubisoft specifies.
You can choose a character and difficulty for the new run. That makes NG+ useful if you want to revisit the campaign under a different setup, or simply replay it without rebuilding your entire loadout from scratch.
What carries over—and when
Ubisoft’s itemized list is more precise than the phrase “most of your equipment.” Retention applies to the categories below, not to all progress, inventory, or collectibles.

- Access collectibles: Yaran Contraband, roosters, USB songs, and Hidden Histories.
- DLC and store Amigos: these remain available.
Some access depends on reaching the relevant point in the new campaign. Rides and the listed vehicle upgrades and customizations become available after “Fuel the Revolution.” Black Market, Ubisoft Club, and Store items become available after escaping Isla Santuario with Clara. Some gear is available only after its applicable mission.
An item being retained is not the same as its story unlock being retained. The missions that obtain Amigos, their abilities, perks, and progression do not automatically transfer as completed unlocks; base-camp unlocks also do not automatically carry over. Expect to play the relevant missions or meet the stated campaign conditions again.

What resets or does not carry over
NG+ resets major campaign and world progression. You replay missions and activities, and the world map and its exploration state start over.
- Campaign and activities: mission progression, Treasure Hunts, races, military installations, Los Banditos operations and rewards, and hideouts reset.
- World information: map fog of war and intel reset.
- Currencies: Uranium, Pesos, and Moneda do not transfer.
- Resources and inventory: non-transferable inventory, Resolver materials, camp resources, tradables, spray cans, Spec Ops keys, and Los Bandidos recruits do not carry over.
- Other progression items: logistics, tools, keys, and Charada Symbols are not automatically transferred.
Ubisoft notes that some inventory items can be regained, but does not say that every excluded item is recoverable in the same way. Plan on retaining only the equipment and unlock categories explicitly listed as carrying over.

Using Completionist Aid during the replay
Title Update 6 also added Completionist Aid, a map widget that shows regional completion percentages and lists found and missing collectibles and activities. It can help you track cleanup as you revisit Yara. It is a game UI feature, not an NG+-exclusive reward.

- Make sure the save you want to use has completed the main campaign, then load or play that save so it is the last-played save. If multiple saves have completed the campaign, the game uses the most recently used one.
- From the main menu, start New Game+ and select an empty save slot.
- Choose your character and difficulty for the new run.
Ubisoft Help says Far Cry 6 offers three saved games at a time and warns that starting a new game in a slot already in use overwrites that file. Keep your completed campaign save by choosing an unused slot.

Is New Game+ worth it?
NG+ is a good fit if you want another campaign run with specified equipment already available and are comfortable replaying missions and activities. It is less suitable if your main goal is to preserve currencies, resources, keys, every collectible, or campaign unlock progress: those are not all retained. The decision is whether carrying over the listed gear is worth repeating the story and resetting the world for you.
