There is no single best long-term minion setup in Hypixel SkyBlock. For an island you will leave unattended, choose around how long you will be away, how much storage the minion has, whether it sells drops automatically, and whether you want NPC prices or the changing Bazaar market. A Super Compactor 3000 (SC3000) setup is one recent community recommendation for NPC selling—not an official ranking or a guaranteed profit strategy.
What makes a minion setup good for the long term?
A minion that earns well while you are checking it regularly may not be the best choice when you leave it alone. The key question is whether its output can keep moving through the minion’s inventory, storage, and sale route while you are away. The community Minions reference describes storage chests as additional capacity and automated shipping as selling generated items once both the minion inventory and attached storage are full. - Time away: Estimate how long the minion can produce before its inventory and chest fill. If that happens before you return, the setup may stop producing until collected.
- Sale route: Decide whether automatic NPC sale or collecting drops for a Bazaar sale better fits your priorities.
- Upgrade slots: Compare what each upgrade contributes in your specific setup; a slot used for one purpose cannot serve another.
- Reliability: Favor behavior you can confirm in game over a claimed bug or uncertain interaction, especially when you plan to leave a setup running for a long time.
How to choose between NPC selling and Bazaar selling
NPC selling
NPC selling prioritizes an automated route and the NPC value of drops. In a guide updated July 5, 2026, player B4TM4N_467 recommends an SC3000-based build for NPC-selling setups, reporting that Enchanted Hopper returns changed from a 90% to a 70% ratio at the end of 2025. The guide argues that replacing one upgrade with an SC3000 is worthwhile in its configuration. Bazaar selling
If you plan to sell drops on the Bazaar, compare their current Bazaar prices with NPC prices before settling on a setup. Bazaar-sensitive returns can change with the market, so a ranking or rate from a dated guide may not describe what you can earn now. What upgrades and storage should you check?
The Minions reference describes minion slots for fuel, automated shipping, and two minion upgrades, alongside cosmetic skins. Fuel can affect how a setup operates while you are away: some fuels are permanent, while most eventually expire. Storage and shipping also matter because automatic sale is described as occurring when the minion inventory and attached chest are both full. - Check the return interval. Consider how long you expect to be away and whether the minion’s inventory plus attached chest can accommodate output during that period.
- Choose a sale route. Decide whether unattended NPC selling or later collection for Bazaar selling suits your goal; compare current values for the actual drops if you are considering the Bazaar.
- Compare upgrade tradeoffs. Assess whether a hopper, SC3000, or another upgrade better supports your chosen route and minion. The July 2026 guide favors an SC3000 over an Enchanted Hopper only for its described NPC-selling configuration.
- Verify before leaving. Check the assembled minion in game, including its fuel, upgrade slots, storage, and automated shipping behavior, rather than assuming a community rate or unusual interaction will apply to your setup.
How much confidence should you put in minion rankings?
The July 5, 2026 community guide says its rates come from the author’s island, so treat them as anecdotal, configuration-specific estimates—not universal profit-per-day figures. Its hopper-ratio claim is also attributed to that guide rather than independently confirmed official information. It flags uncertainty around a Derpy-related interaction and describes its explanation of pumpkin output as a theory. Which sources are current for SkyBlock mechanics?
Hypixel staff member Donpireso announced on the official forums on July 21, 2026, “Sadly, we have made the decision to close the Official Hypixel Wiki.” The announcement also says in-game links were removed and that Hypixel would not officially endorse community websites.
