The map’s official spelling is Bloodhaven, not “Bludhaven.” Its original April 2023 update introduced five roles tied to corruption: Inquisitor and Demon Hunter for Geese, Initiate and High Priest for Ducks, and the neutral Crow. Those roles were later moved out of Bloodhaven Classic into the separate Corruption mode.
The five roles introduced with Bloodhaven
Gaggle Studios introduced the roles in its v2.21 Bloodhaven announcement on April 25, 2023. Their teams and stated abilities were:
| Role | Team | Ability or objective |
|---|---|---|
| Inquisitor | Goose | Detects corruption; Ducks appear corrupted. |
| Demon Hunter | Goose | Can kill once each time the role is corrupted. |
| Initiate | Duck | Conducts a ritual on bodies during the day to generate corruption. |
| High Priest | Duck | Collects corruption and uses it during meetings to kill by correctly guessing roles. |
| The Crow | Neutral | Seeks to corrupt all living players. |
How corruption shaped the original map
Bloodhaven launched with a day-and-night cycle and a corruption mechanic. The village changes appearance between day and night. At night or while corrupted, players take demon forms that obscure their identities, adding a visual layer of uncertainty to role identification.
Are these roles in Bloodhaven Classic now?
No—not according to the mode changes Gaggle Studios described in its v2.24 announcement on June 1, 2023. The studio made Corruption a separate, advanced variant and removed High Priest, Initiate, Inquisitor, Demon Hunter, Saint, and Crow from Bloodhaven Classic.

- Used Book in Good Condition
The Corruption mode included High Priest, Initiate, Inquisitor, Demon Hunter, Saint, Seamstress, and Crow. Bloodhaven Classic retained the town’s day-and-night transformation, but players were no longer viewed as demons at night. The original five-role list therefore describes the Bloodhaven update, not the current Classic role lineup described in that announcement.
