Delicate Harvesting is a Therizinosaur specialization in ARK: Survival Ascended. Putting levels into it increases the yield of resources the Therizinosaur gathers with its Delicate Harvest attack. It is strongest for Thatch and Organic Polymer, while the separate Power Harvest attack is the better choice for Wood and Rare Mushrooms. The official ARK wiki describes these strengths qualitatively and does not publish a per-level percentage, so no exact bonus should be assumed.
What the specialization changes
Delicate Harvesting does not alter the Therizinosaur’s gathering in general. It applies only to the Delicate Harvest attack. Every level you invest raises how much that attack yields from the materials it collects, and it leaves the other harvest attacks alone. If you use Power Harvest or the bite attack for a given resource, Delicate levels will not change that result.
The ARK Official Community Wiki’s Therizinosaur reference, consulted on 2026-10-08, describes the bonus as an increase and gives no numeric formula. That means you should treat the specialization as a directional boost. Do not plan a harvest run around a specific multiplier unless a current, version-specific test establishes one.

- Rare Flowers and Plant Species X and Y seeds
- Wood and Thatch
- Sap from Joshua Trees and Cactus Sap from bush cactus nodes
- Rare Mushrooms
- Several forms of meat and fish meat
- Hide, Chitin, and Keratin
- Leech Blood and Organic Polymer
Two materials are called out as the attack’s specialties. The reference says Delicate Harvest gathers Thatch and Organic Polymer more efficiently than the Therizinosaur’s other attacks. That is the clearest reason to invest in this specialization.
Node yields and corpse yields
The wiki separates materials taken from harvestable nodes from extra materials that can be collected from corpses, and it gives a separate list for each. Do not assume every listed item drops from every node. Sap and cactus sap are described under their own source-specific conditions, so check those entries before planning a collection route.

Delicate compared with Power and bite harvesting
The Therizinosaur has three harvest-related options that matter for this decision: Delicate Harvest, Power Harvest, and the bite attack. Each has a different resource emphasis, as the table shows.

The reference supports only these qualitative distinctions. It does not rank the three attacks numerically, and it does not state that any one of them is best across all server settings.

Repeating harvest attacks
The ARK: Survival Ascended update notes, published on the official Steam Community listing and consulted on 2026-10-08, say Power and Delicate Harvest attacks can now be performed continuously by holding their respective inputs. Delicate Harvest therefore repeats while you hold its assigned secondary attack input. The same notes say Cross Swipe does not harvest resources, so it will not contribute to any of these yields.
Input bindings differ by player settings and platform, so check your own control mapping rather than relying on a fixed key. The wiki and update notes name the attack, not a keyboard key.

The behavior described here is documented for ARK: Survival Ascended. The evidence does not establish that every detail matches ARK: Survival Evolved, every platform, every map, or modded and custom-configured servers. If you are playing a different version or a server with altered rules, verify the mechanic in that environment before relying on it.
Should you invest in Delicate or Power?
- Thatch or Organic Polymer is your main need: put levels into Delicate Harvesting.
- Wood or Rare Mushrooms is your main need: lean toward Power Harvest.
- Hide or Chitin is your main need: use the bite attack for those materials, since the reference singles it out for them.
- You need a mix from the broad Delicate list: Delicate covers the widest range, so it is the more flexible investment, while its advantages are still qualitative rather than measured.
Choose the specialization based on the resource you need most, and confirm the numbers yourself on your server rather than assuming a fixed gain.
