If you entered the wrong birthday on your Roblox account, sign in and go to Settings > Account Info, select the pencil beside your birthday, enter the correct date, and follow the prompts. Depending on what is being changed, Roblox may ask for government-issued ID age verification (for users aged 13 or older) or parental consent. If you are a parent fixing a child’s birthday, the route runs through a linked parent account and Parental Controls, and it allows only one change. If the birthday edit control is missing, contact Roblox Support.
Correcting your own birthday
Roblox’s “How do I change my age?” help article describes the self-service route. Sign in, open Settings (the gear icon on desktop, or the three-dot menu on mobile), open Account Info, select the pencil next to your birthday, enter the correct date, and follow the prompts.
- Sign in to the account you want to correct.
- Open Settings. On desktop, use the gear icon. On mobile, use the three-dot menu.
- Select Account Info.
- Select the pencil beside your birthday.
- Enter the correct date and follow the prompts. If Roblox asks for ID or parental consent, complete that step before the change is applied.
The help article says the change may require government-issued ID verification for users aged 13 or older, or parental consent, depending on what is being changed. Roblox states that age information supports age-appropriate features and content filtering, so the birthday on the account should be your real one. Entering a different age to unlock a feature is not a correction and runs against the purpose of the setting.
Correcting a child’s birthday as a parent
A parent can edit a child’s birthday only through a linked account. The steps, as described in the same Roblox help article, are:

- Link your Roblox account to the child’s account.
- Open Settings > Parental Controls.
- Select the child’s account.
- Select the pencil beside the child’s avatar.
- Select the arrow beside the birthday, if it is shown.
Two limits apply. The parent route allows one birthday update. It is also unavailable once the child has verified their age with government-issued ID. Some regions may impose additional legal requirements on age changes, so the options you see may differ from the description above.

The two routes differ in who makes the change, what Roblox may ask for, and how many chances you get.

When age verification is involved
Roblox’s ID Verification FAQs say that when age verification succeeds, the birthday on the account is corrected to the date shown on the identity document you submitted. The FAQ states that verification is supported in over 180 countries, and that in most countries users can use a driver’s license, residency card, or passport. Because document types vary by country, check which options your account’s current flow offers.
In the words of the FAQ: “When you successfully verify your age, we will correct the birthday on your Roblox account with the one you provided on your ID document.”

The FAQ also covers an account whose age-check result placed it in an 18+ group in error. Roblox’s age-change guidance says that result can be undone only once per account, so make sure the date you enter is correct before you submit.
The 48-hour grace period
One specific scenario has its own rule. If an account was assessed as 13 or older but the person is then assessed to be under 13, Roblox’s age-change guidance describes a 48-hour grace period before the update becomes final. Account Info also offers an option to accept the change immediately. This applies only to that scenario. It does not describe how ordinary birthday edits are processed.

If the birthday edit is unavailable
If you cannot find the pencil beside the birthday, or the parental route does not show up for a child account, the help article points to Roblox Customer Support for further help. It does not describe a guaranteed manual review, a response time, or a specific result when the control is missing. Contact Roblox Support through the help center and describe the birthday you need corrected. Creating a new account is not a documented fix for a birthday error on an existing account.
Roblox’s own pages do not promise any particular outcome from a manual request, so keep your ID and any consent records available in case support asks for them.

Practical notes before you start
- Have the correct date of birth ready, and the ID document you would use if verification is requested.
- If the account belongs to a child, confirm that the parent account is linked before looking for the Parental Controls option.
- Remember that the parent route allows one update, and that a completed ID check on the child’s account closes that route.
- Check which documents your country accepts before starting verification.
