Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Portal is the clearest pick for a Blox Fruits sword main who wants mobility and combo setup. A third-party PvP guide dated August 17, 2026, recommends it for repositioning, escape, and creating opportunities to land sword damage—not for raw fruit damage. Dark and Ice are alternatives if you want stun-based control, while Control is aimed at more technical timing and positioning. These are the guide’s judgments, not an official or guaranteed ranking.
Best overall for sword combos: Portal
Portal’s appeal for a sword main is utility. The August 17, 2026 guide describes it as a way to control movement around the map, escape or reposition, and set up sword combos. Its value depends on converting that opening into sword damage; the guide does not present Portal as a raw-damage choice. Read the guide’s sword-main recommendations.
How the alternatives compare
| Fruit | Why choose it | Trade-off or qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Portal | Mobility, escape, repositioning, and sword-combo setup. | Its stated advantage is utility rather than raw damage; the player must capitalize with sword attacks. |
| Dark | Stun-based combo control. | The guide says it is stronger in skilled hands. |
| Ice | Stun utility with a more accessible control style. | The accessibility description comes from the guide and is not independently verified against official documentation. |
| Control | Technical PvP built around timing and positioning. | More execution-dependent, according to the guide. |
| Dragon | Raw power and transformation pressure. | The guide positions it as a raw-power option, not the clearest sword-specific setup pick. |
Choose by the job you want your fruit to do
For movement and openings
Choose Portal if your plan is to create or escape engagements, reposition, and turn that movement into a sword combo. This is the most direct match for a sword-main playstyle in the reviewed guide.
For stun-based control
Choose Dark if you are comfortable with a more skill-dependent control option. Ice is the guide’s more accessible alternative when you want stun utility.

Is Phoenix worth considering?
A player in an October 31, 2023 Reddit discussion suggested Phoenix for a sword main who also wanted flight, pointing to flight speed, healing, mobility, and a move they said could extend sword combos. That is one player’s historical opinion, not evidence that Phoenix is a current meta pick. See the discussion.
