In the open-world category, the cited record is The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, with 900 Korok Seeds. Those are separate genre records—not a single, directly comparable all-games total.
Which game has the most collectibles?
If you mean a platform game, Guinness World Records lists Donkey Kong 64 with 3,821 collectable items. The game was released in 1999. Guinness’s record page does not establish a record date for this figure, so the total is best described as the record listed on that page rather than as a newly achieved or independently verified count.
For an open-world videogame, Guinness lists The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild with 900 Korok Seeds. The record is dated 3 March 2017, and Guinness notes that finding all 900 earns Hestu’s Gift.
Why there is no single all-game answer
“Most collectibles” can mean different things: the largest finite set of named objects, the greatest number of items in one genre, or a broader count that includes ordinary inventory and renewable pickups. The Guinness records above use different genre categories and different collectibles, so their numbers do not provide a shared cross-genre ranking.

What the Breath of the Wild record counts
The open-world record is specifically for Korok Seeds in Breath of the Wild, not for every collectible or item in the game. Guinness records 900 seeds and dates the achievement to 3 March 2017. It says the reward for collecting them all is Hestu’s Gift.

Does the video-game coin record count?
No. Guinness separately lists Wade Speaks’s collection of 1,019 video-game challenge coins, achieved on 10 April 2019. Those are real-world objects collected by a person, not collectibles found in a game, so they do not belong in an in-game tally.

What should completion-focused players take from these records?
If “finding things” is the appeal, the figures point to two different kinds of collecting: Donkey Kong 64 has a large, multi-category platform-game tally, while Breath of the Wild has a clearly defined open-world hunt for 900 Korok Seeds. Which one feels more substantial depends on whether you prefer gathering many kinds of items or pursuing one extensive collectible set.
