Some games disclose anti-piracy measures on their store pages or in their end-user license agreements (EULAs). Verified Steam PC examples include PRAGMATA, whose listing names Denuvo Anti-Tamper and a five-PC-per-day activation limit, and DEATHLOOP, whose listing also names Denuvo Anti-Tamper. These are edition-specific examples, not a complete list: check the exact platform and store edition you plan to use.
Which games have disclosed anti-piracy measures?
The clearest named examples in the cited official listings are PRAGMATA and DEATHLOOP. The disclosures apply to the listed Steam editions; they do not establish what protection is used by console versions or editions sold through other stores.
| Game and edition | What the listing says | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| PRAGMATA — Steam PC | Capcom’s listing identifies third-party Denuvo Anti-Tamper and says activation is limited to five different PCs within a day. | Steam listing gives an April 16, 2026 release date. The disclosure and activation limit are for the listed edition. Steam store page |
| DEATHLOOP — Steam | The listing identifies third-party Denuvo Anti-Tamper. | Steam listing identifies Arkane Studios as developer and Bethesda Softworks as publisher, and gives a September 13, 2021 release date. Steam store page |
A separate Steam-hosted Ubisoft EULA describes DRM and Denuvo Anti-Tamper for “the Product,” as well as possible installation limits and online activation. The retrieved EULA does not identify the product’s title, so it cannot reliably support naming another game. Its terms should not be generalized to all Ubisoft games. Ubisoft EULA hosted on Steam
What does “anti-piracy measure” mean?
Steam DRM wrapper
Steam’s own DRM wrapper can check ownership and support Steamworks features when Steam launches a game. Valve cautions that “The Steam DRM wrapper by itself is not an anti-piracy solution”; it is mainly intended to deter very casual copying, not to make a game impossible to copy. Third-party anti-tamper
Denuvo Anti-Tamper is the named measure on the two Steam listings above. Its vendor, Irdeto, describes its purpose as making critical code harder to read, copy, and tamper with. That is the vendor’s stated purpose, not independent proof of effectiveness. Irdeto’s Denuvo Anti-Piracy description
Publisher protection terms
EA’s U.S. terms say the company uses technical or content-protection measures developed by EA or third parties to prevent piracy and unauthorized copying or use of EA games. The terms do not name the measures used by each individual title, so they are not a game-by-game inventory. EA User Agreement

How to check whether a particular edition uses DRM
- Identify the exact version. Note the platform and store—such as Steam PC, a console edition, or another PC storefront. A disclosure for one edition does not establish the protection used by another.
- Read the current store listing. Look for a third-party DRM or anti-tamper disclosure and any stated device-activation limit. Record the page and the date you checked it, because listings can change.
- Open the linked EULA or product terms. Check for explicit details such as online activation, installation limits, or additional components. Apply those terms only to the product they identify.
- Separate activation from ongoing connectivity. A requirement for online activation does not, by itself, show that the game must connect to the internet every time it is played.
- Keep the claim narrow. Say that a specific listing or EULA discloses a measure; do not infer the same protection for every platform edition or claim that a game is piracy-proof.
What to compare when evaluating a game’s restrictions
- Named protection: Is the disclosure for Steam’s wrapper, third-party anti-tamper, or a broader publisher measure?
- Platform and store: Does the evidence match the precise edition you own or intend to buy?
- Activation and connectivity: Are there explicit online-activation terms or a device limit? Do not assume either means always-online play.
- Installation and removal: Does the EULA state installation limits or say components may remain after uninstall? Treat this as product-specific.
- When the information was checked: Store disclosures and terms may change, so a date helps readers assess whether the information is current.
Anti-cheat is a separate category: software described as detecting or preventing cheating is not, on that basis alone, evidence of anti-piracy protection.
