For a strong ordinary survival armor set in Minecraft, put Protection IV, Unbreaking III, and Mending on every piece. Add Respiration III and Aqua Affinity to the helmet, Swift Sneak III to the leggings, and Feather Falling IV plus Soul Speed III to the boots. Choose either Depth Strider III or Frost Walker II for the boots, depending on whether you want to move faster underwater or walk across water. Thorns III is optional.
What does “god set” mean in Minecraft?
“God set” is player slang, not an official Minecraft loadout. It can mean exceptionally strong armor or a whole kit of armor, weapons, and tools. The setup below covers armor for ordinary survival play; command-created, modded, server-specific, or legacy gear may allow different combinations.
The exact enchantment rules depend on edition and version. Minecraft Help’s enchantment reference lists the effects and maximum levels for the enchantments below. Java Edition’s 1.21 notes also describe enchantment exclusivity, so do not treat every Protection variant as compatible on one piece in a standard current survival setup: Minecraft: Java Edition – 1.21 (Tricky Trials).
Which enchantments go on each armor piece?

Protection IV is the general-purpose defense choice: Minecraft Help says each level reduces most types of damage by 4%. Unbreaking III helps equipment last longer, while Mending I uses experience to repair equipped or held gear. The armor-specific enchantments add effects tied to their slot.

How should you choose the boot enchantment?
- Depth Strider III: increases movement speed underwater, making it the better choice for underwater travel.
- Frost Walker II: turns water source blocks beneath you into frosted ice and prevents damage from standing on magma blocks, making it useful for crossing water.
Pick the one that fits your usual travel. They are alternatives for this recommended survival setup, not two default enchantments to put on the same boots.
Is Thorns III worth adding?
Thorns III can reflect damage when an attacker hits you, but it also costs armor durability. Add it if reflecting damage matters more to you than conserving durability; it is not an automatic upgrade for every survival set.
Why do “god armor” lists sometimes show more enchantments?
Community discussions have used “god armor” for armor that stacks multiple Protection variants, and they describe compatibility as changing across versions. That history is not a current universal survival recipe. For Java Edition 1.21, consult the official version notes rather than assuming a legacy or command-created combination works in ordinary survival.
There is also a version-specific detail about how some protection effects combine across armor pieces. In Java 1.21 Pre-Release 4, the Java Team wrote: “To get the maximum benefit of these effects, you now need to wear a full set of enchanted armor.” The notes refer specifically to the burning-time reduction from Fire Protection and the knockback-resistance effect from Blast Protection, and say the full enchanted set retained the same effect as in 1.20.6 while one enchanted piece alone had a reduced effect. What if you mean a complete gear kit?
Keep weapon and tool enchantments separate from the armor recipe: the best sword, bow, pickaxe, or axe setup depends on the item, edition, and what you do in the world. Minecraft Help groups enchantments by equipment type in its enchantment reference, which is a useful starting point for a slot-by-slot gear guide.
