If you scratched off part of the PIN on a Roblox gift card, start by reading what is still visible and testing likely lookalike characters at Roblox.com/redeem in a web browser. If the code still won’t redeem, contact Roblox Support with your receipt, card images, and any error message. Roblox’s U.S. and U.K. terms say that lost or damaged gift-card value is not replaced or replenished, so support is the documented route, but it does not guarantee that the balance can be recovered.
How much of the PIN is still readable
The next steps depend on how much of the code survives. Before you enter anything, separate the situation into one of these three cases:
- Most characters are legible. Some characters are ambiguous, but you can still read the overall pattern.
- Only fragments are legible. Parts of the PIN are gone, and the remaining characters do not form a complete code.
- The PIN is fully unreadable. Nothing usable remains on the card.
Step 1: Test lookalike characters
Roblox’s help article on redeeming gift cards notes that several letters and numbers can look alike. When an entered code returns an error, it suggests trying these substitutions:
- Replace O with 0 (zero).
- Replace capital I with 1.
- Replace Z with 2.
- Replace S with 5.
- Replace G or Q with 6.
- Replace B with 8.

Step 2: Redeem through the supported route
Redemption is done in a web browser at Roblox.com/redeem, signed in to the account that should receive the value. Roblox’s redemption help page states that the standard mobile app and consoles do not support gift-card redemption. Samsung Galaxy users are the exception and are given an in-app route. If you are on a console or a standard phone app, switch to a browser before trying again. Roblox’s redemption guidance covers the full process.
Step 3: Contact Roblox Support
If the PIN is unreadable or still fails after careful entry, Roblox’s help page says to contact Roblox support. Have the following ready:

- Your Roblox username
- Purchase date and amount
- Place and city of purchase
- Country of residence
- The PIN, as far as it can be read
- The serial number
- A receipt image
- Front and back images of the card, or a full image of the e-gift
- An image of any redemption error message
Images should be JPG or PNG. Include only the details you actually have, and describe the scratch damage plainly, including which part of the PIN was removed and whether you scratched it yourself after purchase.
Receipt and card: what the guidance does and does not promise
Keep the receipt and the card. Roblox’s retail-code guidance says that if a code was sealed and untampered with at purchase, you should contact support with the receipt and the code. That condition does not describe a card that was scratched after purchase, so the receipt improves your request without guaranteeing help or reimbursement. The support request asks for a receipt image; the help pages reviewed do not describe a separate route for buyers who no longer have one. What the terms say about damaged cards
Roblox’s U.S. Terms and Conditions for Roblox Gift Cards and Credits state that lost, damaged, or stolen gift-card value will not be replaced or replenished. The U.K. Terms and Conditions for Roblox Gift Cards and Credits say the same. The support instructions still direct users with redemption problems to Roblox, but the terms do not provide a mechanism to reconstruct an obliterated PIN. Treat a support request as a way to check whether the code can be processed, not as a promise of recovery.
What will not fix a scratched PIN
- Buying a new gift card. That is a separate purchase and does not restore the value on the scratched card.
- Magnifiers. A magnifier may make faint characters easier to see, but it cannot recreate characters that were removed. Roblox does not recommend using one for this purpose.
- Scratch or repair tools. These can damage the card further and reduce the characters you still have.
- General Roblox code books. They do not resolve a damaged gift-card PIN.

The sources do not establish different replacement entitlements based on how severe the damage is, so the severity of the scratch affects what evidence you can provide, not what Roblox is obligated to do.
