You read the feedback on each board separately, using the shared guess to work toward both answers. Exact word lengths, guess limits and play modes depend on which Dordle site you use.
How Dordle works
Enter one word and submit it as a guess. Both boards then show how that guess relates to their own hidden answers, so the same letter can be a clue on one board and irrelevant on the other.
- Green: the letter is in the answer and in the correct position.
- Yellow: the letter is in the answer but in a different position.
- Gray: the letter is not in that board’s answer.
Use the clues from each board independently. A guess that helps solve the left-hand answer may reveal little about the right-hand one, even though both receive the same word.
How many guesses do you get?
There is no single guess limit that applies to every site using the Dordle name. The pages reviewed list different rules:

These differences mean that “seven guesses” or “five-letter words” is accurate only when tied to a version that states those rules. Check the selected site’s instructions for its word length, limit, language options, reset behavior and whether it stores statistics or progress locally.
Does Dordle have a daily puzzle?
Some versions offer a daily puzzle as well as unlimited rounds: both dordle.io and dordle.gg describe those modes. That feature is not established for every Dordle-branded implementation, so look for a mode selector or daily-puzzle label on the site you choose.

Do you need to download Dordle or create an account?
The game pages describe browser-based play. dordle.io says no download or sign-up is needed, while dordle.gg says its puzzles and modes are free and do not require an account. Those statements apply to the named sites; they do not establish the terms or requirements of every site or app using the Dordle name.

The available game pages establish the shared two-board mechanic, but do not establish a canonical site, original creator or authoritative operator. A separate App Store listing uses the name “Dordle Game: Daily Word Puzzle,” but a listing alone does not establish that it is the original or official version. Treat the branding as insufficient proof of who operates a particular game, and rely on the rules and information shown by the specific site or app you use.
