In DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 2, “Extra Story Mode” usually means Infinite History, the additional story scenario included in Extra Pack 2. It is separate from the base campaign: choices lead to different strategic routes, which players can follow through Tokipedia. The DLC requires the base game.
What is Infinite History?
Infinite History is the official name for the story scenario in Extra Pack 2. Bandai Namco Europe describes it as a branching scenario where player choices shape different strategic paths, with Tokipedia serving as the feature for following those routes. Bandai Namco Europe’s Extra Pack 2 announcement identifies Infinite History as part of that pack.

Is it the main story campaign?
No. Infinite History is additional downloadable story content, not the base game’s campaign. Bandai Namco’s DLC catalog distinguishes downloadable content and story expansions from the game itself. “Extra Story Mode” is an informal, imprecise label; in this context, the specific content is Infinite History in Extra Pack 2, not every story-related Xenoverse 2 DLC.
What do you need to play it?
You need the base game, DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 2, as well as access to Extra Pack 2. The official game page states: “This content requires the base game DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 2 in order to play.” Owning the base game alone does not mean you own the pack.
