Put the beds in the main room, group production in the room to the right of the front door, and use the kitchen area for additional storage and grow tents. This is PC Gamer’s recommended arrangement—not a universally optimal blueprint—and its details may differ from later game builds.
What the recommended bungalow setup includes
PC Gamer’s April 2, 2025 layout is aimed at a player who wants employees to maintain cultivation while the player handles key processing and logistics. Its core equipment and staffing are:
- Two botanists and one cleaner
- 16 grow pots
- One mixing station
- One Packaging Station Mk.2
- At least two large storage racks
- Two bins
- Three employee beds, not including the player’s bed
The guide also lists a lab oven and chemistry station, but suggests moving them to the sweatshop later to free bungalow space. Treat the list as a starting configuration, not a developer-endorsed requirement. PC Gamer’s bungalow setup guide
How to arrange the rooms and work loop
Main room: keep beds out of the work area
Place the three employee beds in the main living area so they do not occupy the production room or interrupt the cultivation loop.

Room to the right: group production
Put the mixing and packaging equipment in the room to the right of the front door. Keep the storage feeding those stations close by so the player and workers are not repeatedly crossing the bungalow between production stages.
Kitchen area: cluster cultivation and supplies
Use the kitchen area for grow tents and additional storage. Keep soil, seeds, and additives near the tents, with a separate nearby shelf for finished plants. PC Gamer says each botanist can manage at most eight tents; at that stated limit, two botanists cover the recommended 16. Assign the intended soil additive to each tent through the management clipboard, and leave the finished-plant shelf accessible to workers. PC Gamer’s guide

Storage: preserve access, not just capacity
Workers need to reach storage to use it. The Schedule 1 Lab Blueprint Editor flags whether storage has free access cells beside it, which can help catch an obviously blocked layout. It does not simulate in-game pathfinding, so an editor check is not proof that a worker’s route will function as intended. Its value is planning and estimating layout costs, not guaranteeing operational performance.

These are different operating approaches, not evidence that one configuration is best for every player. Compare them by how much work you want to do yourself, which stages you need, whether storage is reachable, and how compact the routes are.

Check bungalow capacity and version details
A Steam Community guide updated May 6, 2026 lists the bungalow at $6,000, with one loading bay and room for five employees; it also says online ordering is available at the property. These are community-maintained figures, not an official developer specification, so confirm them in your current game before planning around them. Steam Community property guide
The 16-tent layout and botanist limit come from a 2025 guide, while later automation advice is explicitly version-bound. Schedule 1 is in Early Access, so item availability, mechanics, and property details can change. For item names, the Schedule1.io items guide is a reference; it does not establish that any in-game equipment is a real-world product.
