PUBG Mobile’s Chinese counterpart is called 和平精英 (Hépíng Jīngyīng). Its English names include Game for Peace and Peacekeeper Elite. Tencent rolled out Game for Peace in China in May 2019, while the international game continues to use the PUBG MOBILE name.
What is the Chinese version of PUBG Mobile called?
The Chinese title is 和平精英, romanized as Heping Jingying. English-language sources refer to it as both Game for Peace and Peacekeeper Elite. Tencent’s investor presentation used “Peacekeeper Elite” for its China game portfolio, while its international operations section referred separately to PUBG Mobile (TechNode; Tencent Q1 2020 results presentation).
Why does China use a different name?
In May 2019, Tencent ended the PUBG Mobile beta in China and introduced Game for Peace. TechNode reported that players could update through the existing client; the report, citing 36Kr, also said user data would transfer. The change followed the approval context reported at the time: TechNode said the beta had lacked approval and the replacement had received it. Those are historical details from 2019, not a description of current Chinese game regulations (TechNode, May 8, 2019).
Is Game for Peace the same as PUBG Mobile?
It is best described as PUBG Mobile’s localized Chinese counterpart and relaunch, not simply as the same edition under a different label. Tencent’s 2020 presentation distinguishes Peacekeeper Elite in its China portfolio from PUBG Mobile in its international operations. The sources establishing those names do not provide a current feature-by-feature comparison, or confirm that accounts and servers are interoperable, so the names alone should not be taken as evidence of identical features or cross-region play.

How the China and international names differ
| Market or context | Name used | What the evidence establishes |
|---|---|---|
| China | 和平精英; Game for Peace; Peacekeeper Elite | Game for Peace was the name reported for the 2019 China relaunch; Tencent later used Peacekeeper Elite for a China title in its 2020 Q1 presentation. |
| International branding | PUBG MOBILE; PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE | The international PUBG MOBILE site uses these names. This does not establish the current Chinese storefront listing. |
