Is the Restored Echo-S1 Revolver unbreakable?
Players describe the Restored Echo-S1 Revolver as unbreakable, but that description is anecdotal rather than a developer-confirmed property. Undead Labs’ Update 12 article, published November 12, 2019, confirms that the .22-caliber revolver was brought from Heartland into the core game. It does not say the gun cannot lose durability or break.
So the careful answer is that the revolver is a real core-game weapon that players call unbreakable; the cited official source does not establish that claim as a game rule. That distinction matters if you are choosing a weapon based on whether it will last indefinitely.

How weapon durability and repair work
The community-maintained Weapon Durability reference describes durability as applying to both melee and ranged weapons. According to that reference, a weapon breaks when its durability reaches zero and can no longer be used. Most melee weapons lose durability through hits and executions.
The same reference says Weapon Handling can restore 40%–50% of a ranged weapon’s durability after an animation. That is a repair effect, not proof that the weapon is permanently protected from durability loss or breakage. The figure is the wiki’s description, not an independently verified measurement.

What does the Unbreakable survivor trait do?
The exact current effects of the survivor trait called Unbreakable are not established by the sources cited here. In particular, there is no reliable basis here for assigning it a specific health or injury bonus—or for saying it makes weapons unbreakable. Undead Labs’ update announcement describes a historical change as “a massive overall increase to weapon durability,” along with durability improvements from muzzle brakes and a free one-time repair for all weapons. This establishes that durability has been adjusted, but it does not provide current durability values for the Restored Echo-S1 Revolver or confirm that any weapon is now immune to breaking. Old rankings or posts should therefore not be treated as proof of current behavior.
