The best located estimate puts the average age of active Clash Royale players at 23, with a median of 21. The age distribution peaks at 20–21. These are estimates from an analysis of public account data, not figures from an official Supercell census.
What does the estimate say?
SQURS reported an average age of 23 and a median age of 21 in its Clash Royale Playerbase Snapshot (2025 Q3). The report also found that the distribution peaked at ages 20–21, and that more than 40% of the active players it analyzed were ages 18–23.
The snapshot’s main data was collected August 27–29, 2025, and the report was published September 2, 2025. These figures describe the report’s analyzed active-account population; they should not be treated as a precise average for every person who plays the game worldwide.
How was the age estimated?
The public Clash Royale API does not provide users’ ages. SQURS says it gathered account data mainly through that API, using randomized samples at approximately one sample per 1,000 accounts, then inferred an age distribution rather than reading ages directly from player profiles.

For its snapshot, SQURS counted an account as a “real player” if it had more than 100 battles, a threshold the report equates to roughly five hours of play. As a result, accounts with 100 or fewer battles were excluded. The report also says accounts removed from the public API could not be observed.
What does the estimate leave out?
- Lightly used accounts: Accounts at or below the 100-battle threshold were not included, so the estimate is about more active accounts, not everyone who has tried the game.
- China server: The international API used for the analysis does not cover China’s server following a 2022 split. SQURS estimates that server may represent about 10% of the playerbase, so the snapshot is not a complete global census.
- Directly reported ages: Because user ages are not present in the API data, the reported average and median are inferred estimates, not a count of verified birthdays.
These limitations matter when interpreting “average”: 23 is the best located estimate for the active accounts in this particular analysis, not a definitive current figure for all Clash Royale players.

Do Supercell’s age rules show how old players are?
No. Supercell’s Young Players support page describes special account features and data handling for players under 16, but it does not publish the ages of the playerbase.
Likewise, Supercell says its games have no general age limits and explains in its Parent’s Guide that app-store age or maturity recommendations are third-party content-suitability classifications. Those recommendations do not measure who actually plays Clash Royale or establish an average age.

How to judge other age claims
If you see a different average or demographic claim, check what it measures before comparing it with SQURS’s estimate:
- When was the data collected?
- Does it cover all players, or only active accounts?
- Were ages self-reported, verified, or inferred?
- How were accounts sampled and filtered?
- Which regions and servers are included?
A community poll or an app-store age recommendation cannot, by itself, stand in for a population-wide measurement of Clash Royale players.
