In the United States, the current ESRB rating for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege X is Mature 17+. Ubisoft states that the European rating for Rainbow Six Siege is PEGI 18. Both are age recommendations issued by regional rating bodies, not a single worldwide minimum age and not a legal limit on their own. Check the rating for your country and the exact edition you plan to buy.
Ratings by region
| Region and authority | Rating | Source and notes |
|---|---|---|
| United States (ESRB), Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege X | Mature 17+ | Per the ESRB Siege X listing. Content descriptors and interactive labels are covered below. |
| Europe (PEGI), Rainbow Six Siege | PEGI 18 | Stated by Ubisoft in its family gaming guidance. Ubisoft uses this as its European example; it does not show the rating for each individual European country’s store listing. |
| Canada (ESRB) | Not stated in the sources reviewed | Ubisoft lists ESRB as the authority for the US and Canada, but the sources cited here do not give a Canadian rating for this title. |
| Germany (USK) | Not stated in the sources reviewed | Ubisoft names USK as the German authority. No USK rating for this title is given in the sources cited here. |
What the US Mature 17+ rating covers
The ESRB lists four content descriptors for the Siege X entry:
- Blood
- Drug Reference
- Strong Language
- Violence
The ESRB summary describes a first-person shooter in which players use firearms, explosives, and traps against human enemies. It cites gunfire, explosions, blood-splatter effects, violence in cutscenes, drug references, and strong language. For the full wording, read the ESRB entry itself.
Europe and other territories
Ubisoft’s guidance explains the European label directly: “The first acronym indicates that the game is rated PEGI 18, which means that it is not recommended for anyone under the age of 18.” The same guidance explains the content notices that accompany the rating, including violence and coarse language. Ubisoft identifies PEGI and ESRB as independent bodies that rate games, and it lists separate authorities for other territories, including USK in Germany.

Online play and in-game purchases
The ESRB Siege X entry carries two interactive labels that sit apart from the content rating:
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Rank #3
- ONE Blind Bag Included – Each purchase contains one sealed blind bag with a 5" collectible bag clip featuring a surprise character from the series.
- Official Licensed Merchandise – Authentic character designs made with high-quality sculpting, bold colors, and durable foam material built to last.
- Display or Clip Anywhere – Attach to backpacks, keychains, totes, lanyards, or display at home or work to showcase your fandom.
- Perfect for Fans & Collectors – A fun surprise for collectors of blind bags and mystery figures, and a must-have for fans of the featured series.

- Users Interact, which flags online interaction between players.
- In-Game Purchases (Includes Random Items), which flags paid purchases that include random items.
ESRB says these labels point out features of interest but do not change the age rating. Ubisoft notes that multiplayer games can allow contact through text or voice chat, so the online side needs its own controls even when the content rating is unchanged.
Deciding whether a younger player should play
The ratings answer the question of what age the publisher and rating body recommend. They do not decide the question for a particular child. Three points help:
Rank #4
- Dive into the heart of the mission with Rainbow Six Siege Action.
- OFFICIALLY LICENSED UBISOFT GEAR
- Lightweight, Classic fit, Double-needle sleeve and bottom hem
- Age 13 specifically: both the PEGI 18 and the ESRB Mature 17+ ratings place the game above that age. The rating itself does not support play at 13, so any decision to allow it is a family judgment made against that guidance.
- Chat and purchases: the content rating does not cover voice chat with strangers or random-item spending. Those are the areas where settings matter most for younger players.
- Controls are the practical tool: Ubisoft says that you can use parental controls available on all major consoles and PC to set customized age limits. ESRB describes device controls that can block games by rating, control spending, limit play time, and restrict online communication.
Setting up protections
Ubisoft describes two account types for players:
- Child accounts for players from age 7 up to the local digital-consent age. These include communication filters and restrictions, and purchases are blocked by default.
- Teen accounts, which come with default safety restrictions.
Account behavior depends on location and on current settings, so follow Ubisoft’s Family Center and your console or PC’s own parental-control menus for step-by-step setup. The ESRB overview of parental controls explains what device-level tools can do, and Ubisoft’s page on its young-player account explains the account settings.
Limits of this answer
- The US and European ratings above are the ones sourced directly. Other countries need their own rating authority or store listing.
- Ratings, platform lists, and account controls can change. The ESRB and Ubisoft pages linked here were the reference points as of October 2026, so check them again before making a decision that depends on the exact label.
- Do not treat an age label as a legal minimum unless your local authority says so.
For most readers in the US, the answer is Mature 17+ for Siege X. In Europe, using Ubisoft’s stated rating, the answer is PEGI 18.
