Roblox Creator Hub documents 507777826 as the default Walk animation. It is the documented default asset ID, not a guarantee that every avatar or experience will use that animation.
Roblox’s documented default Walk animation ID
The Animation Graph Editor documentation labels 507777826 as the “default Walk animation.” Use that number when you need the documented default asset ID.
Where the walk animation is set
For a character using the standard Animate script, Roblox identifies the walk animation reference as animateScript.walk.WalkAnim.AnimationId. To replace it, assign the new animation’s asset reference in rbxassetid://<ID> form. Roblox’s animation replacement example shows how to wait for the character, its Humanoid and Animator, then access the character’s Animate script and update the walk reference.
- In your character animation code, locate
animateScript.walk.WalkAnim.AnimationId. - Set it to
rbxassetid://<your-animation-ID>, replacing the placeholder with the asset ID you want to use. - Playtest the character in the experience to confirm the expected animation appears.
Why the animation you see may differ
The ID in the documentation does not establish a universal animation for all Roblox characters. Roblox supports animation-pack modes named PlayerChoice, StandardR15 and StandardR6. The player’s equipped animation choice or the experience’s configured standard pack can affect which base animation is applied. If the character does not show the expected walk, check the character’s actual Animate script and the experience’s animation-pack configuration.

Roblox’s AnimationType reference documents those modes. The animation usage documentation also lists Walk as an animation action that can be replaced with a catalog or custom animation.
