FINAL FANTASY XIV Patch 7.3, subtitled The Promise of Tomorrow, was scheduled to go live after all-world maintenance ended at 10:00 GMT (3:00 a.m. PDT) on August 5, 2025. That is the planned end of the downtime, not a guaranteed second-by-second server reopening, because Square Enix warned that the completion time could change.
The scheduled release window
Square Enix announced all-world maintenance on the FINAL FANTASY XIV Lodestone for August 5, 2025, and listed the window as 1:00 to 10:00 GMT. The notice said the downtime was needed to implement Patch 7.3 and to carry out infrastructure maintenance, and that every world would be unavailable during that period.

Why the time is a schedule, not a guarantee
The maintenance notice states, “Completion time is subject to change.” Large all-world maintenance can finish earlier or later than the posted time depending on how the infrastructure work progresses. If you are trying to log in at the exact moment, treat 10:00 GMT as the target and check the Lodestone for any update to the notice. Official notes do not publish a precise server-reopening timestamp for August 5, so no more exact figure is established than the posted window.

PDT is seven hours behind GMT, which is why the 10:00 GMT release falls at 3:00 a.m. on the Pacific coast. Other regions should convert from GMT rather than from the Pacific figure.

What Patch 7.3 added
According to the official Patch 7.3 Notes on the Lodestone, the update brings new Dawntrail story content, the second Echoes of Vana’diel alliance raid, a new trial, and the Vault Oneiron treasure dungeon, along with other additions.
The August 8 hotfix is a separate update
Do not treat the August 8 notice as the launch. Square Enix posted a separate “FINAL FANTASY XIV Updated (Aug. 8)” notice at 7:12 GMT on August 8, 2025, recording Patch 7.3 hotfixes. That update came three days after the scheduled launch and is the reference point for any post-release fixes.

Access requirements for some content
The Patch 7.3 Notes say some of the additions require the relevant FINAL FANTASY XIV expansion packs to be registered to your service account. Check the notes for the specific item you want before assuming it is available to every account.
