The Kingdom Come: Deliverance Wiki describes three values that each top out at 20:
- Main level: Henry’s overall level.
- Stats: the core attributes that make up his base abilities.
- Skills: the individual skill levels that improve through use and training.
Because these are separate counters, a character can reach the cap in one category without having maxed out every other. The wiki’s entry is the reference point for the ceiling itself; it is a fan-maintained page, not a developer manual, so it is best cited as the community’s documented figure.
How perks relate to main level
According to the same wiki entry, a perk choice becomes available with every second main-level increase. That means perk points are spread across the progression curve rather than granted once per level, and reaching level 20 is the point where the perk track ends for the main-level system. Players planning a build should therefore think of main level as a pacing mechanism for perk unlocks, not only as a score.

The Level Cap achievement
A 2018 discussion on the game’s official forum links an achievement called “Level Cap” to reaching main level 20. The same post names Strength, Agility, Vitality, and Speech as the four primary attributes involved in that progression. This is player-posted guidance, not an official achievement specification, so it is useful for understanding the goal but should not be treated as the developer’s own description of the unlock conditions. Players checking the requirement today should confirm it in their in-game achievement list, since achievement wording can change between releases and platforms.

This answer concerns the first Kingdom Come: Deliverance. The sequel, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, is a separate game, and results about it do not establish the first game’s cap. Plaion’s official support FAQ covers the original game and its Royal Edition, and it also documents a next-generation console update dated February 13, 2026 for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. That page provides edition and platform context, but it does not state the level cap itself. The sources reviewed for this answer do not report a different cap for the Royal Edition, but they also do not separately confirm that edition’s progression values, so the 20 figure is best understood as applying to the base game’s documented system.
