By cartridge capacity, the largest Nintendo 64 Game Paks held 512 megabits (64MB). Resident Evil 2 is the earliest N64 game Guinness World Records identifies as using a cartridge that size, but it was not the only game in the maximum-capacity class.
What does “largest” mean for an N64 game?
Here, “largest” means the storage capacity of the retail game’s cartridge—not its length, number of levels, physical dimensions, or the size of a file used by an emulator. Guinness World Records describes 512 megabits (64MB) as the largest N64 cartridge capacity available for games and names Resident Evil 2 as the earliest N64 game to use one. Guinness World Records
Why is Resident Evil 2 the answer?
Guinness identifies Resident Evil 2 as the first N64 game to use a 512-megabit cartridge. A title-specific data sheet for the European version, which lists its release date as February 9, 2000, also gives the cartridge capacity as 512 Mbits. Nintendo64EVER’s Resident Evil 2 data sheet
The N64 version adapted a PlayStation game that originally came on two discs. Guinness describes fitting it on one cartridge as a technical achievement. That makes Resident Evil 2 a clear example of the largest cartridge size, not a uniquely largest game.

Was Resident Evil 2 the only 64MB N64 game?
No. The 512-megabit figure is a shared capacity ceiling, not an exclusive record held by one title. Secondary technical and community references also report 64MB cartridges for Conker’s Bad Fur Day and Pokémon Stadium 2. The sources establishing the maximum do not provide a complete official list of every game at that size, so these examples should not be treated as a verified census.
Why does Nintendo’s 1999 manual say 32MB?
Nintendo of America’s N64 introductory manual, last updated in March 1999, lists the Game Pak specification as “Mask ROM of 32 megabytes (256 megabits).” That is the manual’s stated specification at that time; Guinness’s record entry documents 512-megabit cartridges available later, including the one used by Resident Evil 2. The dated specification and later market examples describe different points in the format’s history, so they should not be read as interchangeable claims. Nintendo of America’s N64 manual

A contemporary GameSpot report dated April 26, 2000, said the upcoming “Zelda 64” cartridge was expected to be 256 megabits. The report also said Nintendo of America could not confirm that size at the time, so it is evidence of a pre-release expectation, not confirmation of the final retail cartridge. Does the 64DD disk count?
No—not when the question is about the largest N64 cartridge. Nintendo’s manual describes the 64DD as a separate disk device and gives its disk capacity as about 64.45 megabytes, including writable and non-writable portions. A 64DD disk and a Game Pak are different media, so the disk figure does not make a 64DD title a larger cartridge game. Nintendo of America’s N64 manual

Does a bigger cartridge mean a bigger or better game?
It means the cartridge held more data. Capacity alone does not establish that a game is longer, has more levels, or is better: those are different measures, and cartridge size by itself cannot answer them.
