For a creator’s own qualifying in-game passes and developer products, Roblox’s published split is 70% to the creator and 30% to Roblox as its Marketplace Fee. That is the share of the Robux spent on the sale—not the amount a creator ultimately receives in cash. Other sale types have different terms, and DevEx cash-out is a separate step.
How the 70/30 Robux split works
When a player buys a creator’s own qualifying in-game item, Roblox says the creator receives 70% of the Robux spent and Roblox retains the remaining 30% as its Marketplace Fee. This applies to common in-experience sales such as game passes and developer products. Roblox’s monetization overview describes the split; its pass documentation covers passes specifically.

For example, if a player spends 100 Robux on one of those items, 70 Robux go to the creator and 30 Robux are the Marketplace Fee. A pass is a one-time purchase; a developer product can be purchased repeatedly. The illustration is the published split for these sales, not a rule for every way to earn on Roblox.
Why other Roblox sales can have different splits
The 70/30 figure depends on what is sold, where it is sold, and whether it belongs to the game’s creator. Roblox documents distinct arrangements for several other transaction types:

Roblox also documents subscriptions, ads, Creator Rewards, and commerce as separate monetization paths. Their eligibility and payment mechanics are not captured by the standard in-game 70/30 split; see Roblox’s monetization overview.
How much Robux converts to cash through DevEx
The creator’s Robux share is not cash. DevEx is Roblox’s separate exchange program for eligible Earned Robux. The standard rate in Roblox’s current Creator Hub DevEx documentation is $0.0038 per Earned Robux—$114 for 30,000. Roblox Support says this rate applies to Robux earned on or after 10 a.m. Pacific Time on September 5, 2025; earlier earnings remain at the prior $0.0035 rate until cleared. See the DevEx Help page.

A higher $0.0054 rate, or $162 per 30,000 qualifying Robux, applies only to certain eligible in-game purchases in eligible games made by US players verified as at least 18 years old. Roblox Support states this rate took effect June 8, 2026. It is conditional, not a general rate for all creators or all Earned Robux.

Roblox’s DevEx eligibility guidance sets a minimum of 30,000 Earned Robux to request a cash-out. A balance shown in Robux is not automatically eligible: examples Roblox excludes from Earned Robux include purchased Robux, gift-card redemptions, subscription grants, and resale proceeds. Roblox retains discretion over whether Robux qualify, and creators must meet the program’s other eligibility requirements.

Which percentage should you use?
- For your own game pass or developer product bought with Robux inside your experience, use 70% to the creator and 30% to Roblox.
- For another creator’s pass sold in your experience, use the documented affiliate arrangement instead of the own-item split.
- For avatar Marketplace sales or local-currency paid access, consult the terms for that specific transaction type.
- For an estimate of cash proceeds, separate the Robux sale share from DevEx eligibility and the exchange rate that applies to those earnings.
