Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 can no longer be pre-ordered. It launched on October 25, 2024, and pre-orders closed with that release. If you want the game now, you are making a standard purchase, and the choices come down to platform, edition, and physical or digital format.
Why pre-orders are closed
Pre-orders ended when the game launched on October 25, 2024. Activision’s June 2024 pre-launch article opened by saying the game was “now available to preorder on the following platforms,” and that wording belongs to the pre-launch period. Any page still offering a pre-order today is out of date, and the bonuses attached to those pre-orders are no longer on offer (see the section on former pre-order bonuses below).
Where to buy the digital game
Start with Activision’s official Call of Duty product page. It presents the current purchase options and asks you to choose a platform. PlayStation also maintains its own store listing for the game. The routes below are the ones named by Activision and the platform holders. Availability, pricing, and platform terms can differ by region and change over time, so confirm the details on the store page before you pay.
| Platform | Official digital routes named | Editions to look for | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| PlayStation (PS5) | Official PlayStation Store listing; Call of Duty product page | Cross-Gen / Standard; Vault Edition | Check that the listing is for PS5 and the edition you want. |
| Xbox | Xbox route from the Call of Duty product page | Cross-Gen / Standard; Vault Edition | Confirm the Xbox generation listed on the store page. |
| PC (Windows) | Microsoft Store, Battle.net, Steam | Standard Edition; Vault Edition is shown on the product page | Confirm that your storefront sells Vault Edition for PC before buying. |
Game Pass is a separate route. Activision’s 2024 edition guide described access through select Game Pass plans at launch, and the current product page lists Game Pass for Cross-Gen / Standard. Game Pass access is a subscription, not a purchase, and the title’s presence in the catalog depends on your plan and region. Check the service directly.

Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
Physical copies
Activision’s 2024 edition guide listed a physical PS5 edition and a physical Xbox Cross-Gen Bundle. Those formats were announced for launch. The guide does not establish what is in stock now, and nearly two years after release, availability depends entirely on individual retailers and sellers. Before buying a physical copy, check the following:
- Seller and stock: Confirm whether the retailer sells the disc directly or whether it is a third-party marketplace listing.
- Condition: For used or marketplace copies, check the listed condition and whether the copy is sealed.
- Console match: Make sure the disc edition matches your console and generation.
- Upgrade path: Under the terms in the 2024 guide, physical editions could not be upgraded to Vault Edition.
Editions and launch-era prices
The table below shows what each edition covered according to Activision’s June 2024 guide. The prices are US suggested retail prices from that guide. They are launch-era figures, not current prices, so the store page at checkout is the only reliable price.

Which route fits
- You want the premium content: Choose Vault Edition on the platform you will play on. The 2024 guide said a Vault upgrade had to be on the same platform as the original purchase.
- You want the base game at the lowest launch-era price: Choose Cross-Gen / Standard on consoles or Standard Edition on PC.
- You want a disc: Choose a physical edition for your console, but accept that it cannot be upgraded to Vault Edition later.
- You already subscribe to Game Pass: Check whether your plan and region include the title before buying.
Former pre-order bonuses
Digital pre-orders in 2024 included Open Beta Early Access and the Woods Operator Pack. Both were tied to the pre-order period and the beta, and neither can be obtained by pre-ordering now. Treat the upgrade and bonus terms in the 2024 guide as historical, and confirm current terms in the store where you buy.
