This was the reported scheduled start, not a guarantee that players could log in or enter matchmaking at that exact time. The report warned that servers could remain unavailable for several hours as Epic prepared the new content and update 39.00; it did not establish an exact reopening time.
How to check Fortnite maintenance and season dates
For downtime updates
Epic directs players to Epic Games Public Status and FortniteStatus for scheduled maintenance updates. Epic also says that in-game emergency messaging is posted about 24 hours before planned downtime. Check those channels for current information rather than assuming access will begin at the scheduled season time.
#1 Best Overall
- Redeemable on accounts in the United States and in U.S. Dollars.
- Gift card must be redeemed at EpicGames.com/redeem. This gift card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly on a console device (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, etc.)
- If you play Fortnite experiences on a console device, you need to link your Epic Games account to your console account(s) so items purchased at Fortnite.com/item-shop appear across all of your linked accounts
- Requires internet connection, valid Epic account and prior acceptance of the terms
- Redemption: Online
For a season’s end date
Epic says the Battle Pass webpage and the in-game Battle Pass tab show the current season’s end date. Those dates can change because of unforeseen factors, so Epic advises players to watch its official social channels for updates. See Epic’s season-end guidance.
Chapter 7 Season 1 is no longer upcoming
As of October 8, 2026, Epic’s Fortnite homepage identified Chapter 7 Season 4: Override as live and listed November 1, 2026, Eastern Time, as the Battle Pass end date. Chapter 7 Season 1’s November 2025 launch is therefore historical, not an upcoming release. Check Fortnite’s official homepage.

- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.
