Why Buried City is the best place to start
Cat Beds are listed in both Residential and Commercial loot categories, so furnished interiors and shops are better targets than unrelated areas. Buried City has the strongest overlap among the location guides for named places to search.
- Plaza Rosa: Check the surrounding buildings and the pharmacy nearby, a reported Commercial-area lead.
- Santa Maria Houses: Search the residential interiors for shelves, cabinets, lockers, and other containers.
- Piazza Arbusto: Check the buildings and their furnishings rather than relying on a single container type.
- Grandioso Apartments: Search apartment interiors for lootable furnishings and containers.
- Main Street: Another guide names this area and recommends checking shops and shelves.
These named locations are useful places to focus a run, but no source establishes that a Cat Bed will appear in a particular building or on every visit. A community-tracking page reports shares of finds by map, but does not document its sample or method; those figures are not dependable spawn odds.
What to search inside buildings
Do not limit your search to containers that display an interaction prompt. Guides recommend checking shelves and cabinets, as well as lockers and standard loot containers. In shops, inspect shelves; in residences, sweep the furnished rooms and storage areas.

Red Tower, Buried City
MetaForge calls out white plastic containers on the tower’s outside ledge and red lockers inside. This is more precise container advice than the broader area recommendations, but the page does not provide verified spawn rates or a reproducible sample. Treat it as a lead, not a near-guarantee.
Village, northwest Blue Gate
The Village is another community-reported option. Search its residential buildings using the same approach: inspect shelves, cabinets, lockers, and containers rather than expecting an item at one fixed spot.
Other map alternatives
MetaForge also names the central pharmacy in Buried City and the Testing Annex on Dam Battlegrounds. They are additional leads, while the clearest cross-guide starting point remains Buried City’s Residential and Commercial areas.
How the Cat Bed is used
The Cat Bed is an Uncommon Trinket used for the Workshop upgrade from Scrappy III to Scrappy IV. The listed recipe is:
- 1 Cat Bed
- 6 Olives
- 6 Prickly Pears
The ARC Raiders Wiki lists a stack size of three and weight of 0.5. Its recorded in-game flavor text reads, “At least a tiny bit more comfortable than your face.”
