The prices are in-game values listed by the Hollow Knight Wiki’s Cornifer reference. The game manual also identifies Cornifer and Iselda as services, but does not give a precise route to Cornifer’s room: Hollow Knight manual.
How to find Cornifer
The available references confirm that Cornifer sells the map in City of Tears, but do not establish a dependable sequence of rooms, entrances, or landmarks to reach him. Once you are in the area, listen for his humming and watch for the paper trail as practical clues. Avoid relying on an exact route unless you have a map or guide for your particular point of entry.
If Cornifer has already left
When Cornifer leaves an area, he leaves a note directing you to his and Iselda’s shop in Dirtmouth. Check Iselda’s shop for the City of Tears map; its listed price there is 120 Geo. The map-price reference is the Hollow Knight Wiki’s maps page.
