If by “God of War 1” you mean the original God of War released in 2005, it was made for PlayStation 2—not released as a native PC game. Sony’s PC releases are the separate God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarök. The only potential official way to play the 2005 game on a PC is PlayStation Plus Premium streaming, if the game is currently available in your territory.
Is the original God of War available as a PC game?
No native PC release of the 2005 original is identified on Sony’s official franchise page. Sony identifies that game as a PlayStation 2 release, while its PC section lists God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarök as PC games on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Those are later, distinct entries—not PC ports of the original. Sony’s God of War franchise page distinguishes the games and platforms.

Can you stream God of War (2005) to a PC?
Possibly. PlayStation Plus Premium lets eligible members stream selected games from the Classics Catalog and Game Catalog to PC, but Sony says catalog availability varies over time and by plan. The available official information does not establish that the original is streamable in every region.
- Open Sony’s PlayStation Plus games catalog and use the official cloud-streaming game finder.
- Search for the exact title, God of War (2005), while viewing the catalog for your account’s territory. Confirm that it is listed for streaming before subscribing.
- If it is available, check Sony’s PlayStation Plus PC requirements. Sony requires an active qualifying membership, the PC app, an adult PlayStation account, a compatible controller, and broadband of at least 5 Mbps. Sony also sets an 18+ requirement for streaming through the PC app.
A catalog listing can change, so verify it close to when you plan to play. A Premium subscription alone does not guarantee access to this specific game.

| Original PlayStation 2 release | A PlayStation 2 and a physical copy of the 2005 game. | That the console and disc are compatible and that the used copy is in acceptable condition. |
Sony identifies the original as a PlayStation 2 game, making a PS2 and physical copy the straightforward original-platform option. The official sources do not establish current used-copy stock, condition, or pricing.
