Did the raid start?
A raid needs its trigger and a qualifying village. The Minecraft Wiki raid tutorial describes entering a village with Raid Omen while at least one villager and a claimed bed are present. It says a 30-second countdown precedes the raiders’ arrival. Check that the effect was active when you entered the village, then allow the countdown to finish and watch the raid indicator.

If the indicator never appears, or disappears without a wave, the problem may be that the raid did not trigger or has ended—not that pillagers are hidden. If the indicator remains active, continue by searching the area and checking the raid’s location and wave state.
Where to look for raiders
Do not search only at the village center. The Minecraft Wiki’s Bedrock raid summary describes a spawning region measuring 128×32×128 around the village center, with possible spawn locations above or below ground. Treat that description as Bedrock-specific, not a universal Java coordinate rule.

- Check caves and other underground spaces.
- Look on rooftops, hills, and other elevated terrain.
- Search nearby surfaces outside the built-up part of the village.
If you are using a raid farm, check whether its intended spawning area has suitable surfaces and enough room. The Minecraft Wiki raid-farming tutorial discusses blocks that can prevent spawns, while noting that some rules vary by edition. A surface blocked to raiders can leave them spawning somewhere less obvious instead.
Check the village center and beds
The raid’s search area follows the registered village center, which may not be where the village looks centered to you. Beds and other village points can affect where that center is registered. If you moved beds, changed the village layout, or built a farm around a particular point, check that the relevant village points still match the design.

This matters especially when a raid starts in a player-built village or farm: the place you expect the wave to appear may not align with the center the game is using.
Make sure the raid is not between waves
A pause does not necessarily mean the first spawn failed. The raid tutorial lists three waves on Easy, five on Normal, and seven on Hard; it also describes an additional wave when Bad Omen is above level I. Watch the raid indicator and allow time for the next wave before concluding that the raid is stuck.

Use your edition and version to narrow the cause
Java and Bedrock raid mechanics are not interchangeable. The available location details are clearer for Bedrock than for current Java behavior, and the cited summaries do not establish exact Java spawn coordinates. Before applying a coordinate-specific fix or copying a farm design, identify your edition and game version and make sure the instructions match both.
The Mojang tracker entry MCPE-47598 surfaced in connection with raid spawning, but its issue details are not available here. Its existence alone does not establish that a particular bug is causing your missing raiders.

Quick troubleshooting order
- Confirm Raid Omen was active when you entered a village with at least one villager and a claimed bed.
- Wait through the described countdown and check whether the raid indicator appears and remains active.
- If the raid is active, search caves, nearby terrain, rooftops, and other surfaces rather than just the village center.
- Check whether beds or other village points have shifted the registered center away from your expected spawn area.
- If you use a farm, check its spawn surfaces and confirm its design matches your edition and version.
- Wait between waves and use the raid indicator to distinguish a pause from a failed spawn.
For a more precise diagnosis, note your edition and version, whether the raid indicator remains visible, and where the beds and villagers are located.
