Lunar’s older guidance says Realms is available only on the latest Minecraft version, so an outdated game version is the first thing to check. Then verify the Microsoft account and its multiplayer privacy settings. The exact Realms menu location and required version in the October 2026 client are not established by Lunar’s published guidance.
1. Update the Minecraft version selected in Lunar
Lunar’s historical instructions tie Realms access to the latest Minecraft version. Its Version 1.19.3 announcement explained that the Realms button appeared only on the latest version at the time; its Version 1.20 announcement gave similar guidance. Those version numbers are historical, not current requirements.

- Open the Lunar launcher and select the newest Minecraft version it offers. If you use a custom profile, check that the profile is set to that version.
- Launch the game and look for the Realms entry on the main menu.
Lunar’s changelog, as observed on October 8, 2026, lists full support for Minecraft 26.3. That establishes the client’s recent version support, but not which specific version Realms requires or where its control appears in the current menu.
2. Confirm the Microsoft account is eligible
Check that Lunar is signed into the Microsoft account that owns Minecraft: Java Edition or has an active Xbox Game Pass subscription, as described in Lunar’s Getting Started with Lunar Client guide. If you have more than one Microsoft account, verify the active one rather than assuming the launcher is using the account you intended.

3. Check multiplayer privacy permission
If multiplayer access is disabled for the account, Realms may not be available. Lunar’s Multiplayer Access Disabled help article directs users to Xbox account privacy settings to allow “You can join multiplayer games,” submit the change, and then relog into the account in Lunar Client. The settings interface may change, but the permission to check is multiplayer access.
4. If the Realm world is missing, check the active account
If the Realms menu opens but the world you expect is absent, confirm that Lunar is signed into the account associated with that Realm, then relog. Lunar’s Patch Notes #21 documented a past issue in which Realms worlds did not appear after switching accounts. That is evidence of a historical bug, not confirmation that the same issue is currently widespread.

5. Contact Lunar support if the checks fail
If the latest available version, account eligibility, and multiplayer permission do not resolve the problem, use the ticket route on Lunar’s support site. Include the selected Minecraft version, whether the Realms entry is missing or an error appears, and whether you recently switched accounts. Lunar’s support page also lists an email address for users unable to access Minecraft.

Lunar Hosted Worlds is a separate way to play together, not a fix for an existing Realm. Lunar’s Hosted Worlds guide explains that you can host a single-player world, invite Lunar friends, allow other Minecraft clients through an “Everyone” privacy setting, and let Bedrock players connect using the host’s world address. The world is hosted locally and shuts down when the host leaves.
